The young boy presented Pope Francis with a gift, a plastic dinosaur, and the pontiff took time to play with the boy and his siblings after meeting with the adults, ANSA said. I'm more impressed by the title than the article. Still, amazing story that kid will have to tell others when he gets older.
Should have named it. "Boy gives Pope Francis the D."
Tried too hard on the title
Whats up with the title, give Francis a break dude.
The kid looks stoned.
Wish I had dinosaur toys as a kid
Tried too hard on the title
I'm so sorry :(
It would be cute, but the irony...
So for once it's the pope receiving the D from the kids, and not the other way around. Am I the only one seeing the irony in this though? The Pope got a dinosaur - a creature he doesn't actually believe existed ever.

The Vatican department of Scientists studies astrology, anthropology and all of that stuff in the same league as most major universities. Most of my family, whom went to Catholic schools as children, believe in Evolution and Dinosaurs. Elements they were taught of as children, by nuns. It's American Protestants who are the utter fuckwits.

They (the people), at least in my experience, also don't think solely being non-Christian is grounds to be sent off to Hell. They tend to believe you're judged on your actions rather than your faith.
Love the pope! (User was permabanned for this post ("gimmick" - postal))

I am fully aware that being a catholic doesn't mean that you're dumb enough to deny evolution, but if you did believe every single word in the bible, that would probably be the case, no matter if you're a protestant or catholic. The church (and pope) still represents a religion that fundamentally says things that contradicts evolution, dinosaurs etc. I think it's wonderful that the catholic church is sort of keeping up-to-date a bit.

In other words, the Catholic church accepts evolution and dinosaurs 100% no matter what the Bible literally says. Their religion is not saying things contrary to those facts. Here is what Recent Pope's have said. "... new findings lead us toward the recognition of evolution as more than a hypothesis." - John Paul II, 1996 "According to the widely accepted scientific account, the universe erupted 15 billion years ago in an explosion called the 'Big Bang' and has been expanding and cooling ever since. Later there gradually emerged the conditions necessary for the formation of atoms, still later the condensation of galaxies and stars, and about 10 billion years later the formation of planets. In our own solar system and on earth (formed about 4.5 billion years ago), the conditions have been favorable to the emergence of life. While there is little consensus among scientists about how the origin of this first microscopic life is to be explained, there is general agreement among them that the first organism dwelt on this planet about 3.5-4 billion years ago. Since it has been demonstrated that all living organisms on earth are genetically related, it is virtually certain that all living organisms have descended from this first organism. Converging evidence from many studies in the physical and biological sciences furnishes mounting support for some theory of evolution to account for the development and diversification of life on earth, while controversy continues over the pace and mechanisms of evolution."- Pope Benedict XVI More info on the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_and_the_Roman_Catholic_Church#Pope_John_Paul_II
and the pontiff took time to play with the boy and his siblings after meeting with the adults
Heartwarming.

It was only when atheists started using it to combat Christianity that the rift happened. Heck, most of Proverbs is about the importance of wisdom.
Atheists used to be against a changing world. Pre Dar win they were static world static universe
Atheists used to be against a changing world. Pre Dar win they were static world static universe
Atheists aren't for or against anything, it's a religious idea and nothing more. The only thing one can judge atheists as a whole on is their lack of belief in the divine.

Only idiots believe that the Bible is 100% true and correct and anyone who says otherwise is a filthy heretic piece of shit. Now true, the Catholic Church has its fair share of idiots, but they're way better than the Protestants.
