Bickle predicts that “the homosexual agenda will become so intense” that marriage will not only be “blurred and defiled” but also become a crime across the world. He also claims that “the gay marriage agenda” is “rooted in the depths of hell” and influenced by “demon spirits,” accelerating the coming of the End Times.

Unlike in Sweden, in the United States there is a [I][B]colossal[/B][/I][Insert link to TV Tropes' article "[U]Understatement[/U]"] amount of deep-seated and deep-rooted bigotry against literally anyone that isn't a WASP(White/Anglo/Saxon Protestant). In terms of geographical boundaries it's primarily concentrated in the deep south and along demographic boundaries primarily associated with middle-age and older, white conservatives. This Bigotry goes [I]waaaay [/I]back, back to the 1860s and the U.S. Civil War when the United States was divided on the subjects of Slavery and politics. This however is only part of the problem, as the rest of it is associated with the Civil Rights movement during the mid 1950s to 1960s.
Also, what much of what has been happening as of late can be directly or indirectly attributed to the Democratic nomination and ultimately election of the first black President. This was the figurative equivalent of shooting a hornet's nest with an antitank missile in regards the the various scattered hate groups and ultra/paleo-conservative groups that have deep roots in America, as these various disparate groups all view this as a direct insult to their idealized view of an America that is racially pure and led by a White Christian Ubermensch.
So yeah, American-Style Bigotry 101.
Nothing in the US 'happened', it's just that people are posting more things on Facepunch about it.
It's like this here every day, and has been for most of the last decade.
