The ads are being paid for by fringe anti-abortion candidate Randall Terry:
Anti-abortion ads showing graphic images of aborted fetuses covered in blood and surrounded by religious icons will air during the Super Bowl in February, courtesy of Democratic Presidential candidate Randall Terry. Terry, who has spent a year in jail and been arrested 50 times for his anti-abortion efforts, is using a Federal Election Commission loophole that ensures ads for political candidates cannot be prohibited within 45 days of an election. Apparently, primaries count, so Terry will be running ads on local stations during Super Bowl XLVI February 5.
The Colorado paper the Greeley Gazette notes that Terry has already run political ads with images of aborted fetuses in New Hampshire. The ads attacked President Obama for supporting “child killing.” TV stations have typically rejected ads with graphic content, especially during events like the Super Bowl that have a large audience. But by exploiting a loophole that requires stations to air ads by political candidates within 45 days of an election, Terry has managed to circumvent those standards. “This means that primary states that fall within the 45 day window will have to run the graphic ads during the Super Bowl if he purchases the slots,” the Gazette says.[/release] And if you didn't know who Randall Terry is, Vermin Supreme glitter bombed him for several minutes. what the fuck "hey go get the dip the games about to start" "hey the saints just got defetus oh i mean defeated"
Abortion is stupid. Baby killers
Where does he get the money to afford that? Buying adtime during the Super Bowl is by far the most expensive time to run an ad.
The fuck is wrong with these people?
Where does he get the money to afford that? Buying adtime during the Super Bowl is by far the most expensive time to run an ad.
It's just local stations.
abortion is bad. why? bloody foetus!
I would prefer nobody get abortions, nobody wants to get an abortion, but it is up to the woman's choice. It is her body and she will do what she thinks is right. That's why I am pro-choice.
Peta always got shot down for their SuperBowl ads. I'd assume this will get the same treatment.
I don't care if there's a loophole, they shouldn't be able to show something that graphic.
So this guy is like the PETA of abortions?
I still don't see what people find wrong with abortions. Just put a time limit on it, e.g. before it develops a functioning heart and higher brain functions. Because without those two things it's not a living human being by any definition.
So Janet Jackson shows a nipple on accident and gets flipped the fuck out at but showing dead unborn fetuses during the super bowl is alright by a loophole? Fuck my country is getting fucking dumber and I can't do anything about it.
I like how that would imply that foetuses only get bloody through abortion. I mean, like it or not what's comin' out ain't gonna be pretty!
how about they show a video of women who can't be adequate parents because they're impoverished and their government decided that they don't own their bodies
Haha I've never heard of Vermin Supreme before that guy is awesome!

I like how no one has commented on the fact that he's a Democrat. Anyways I guess this goes to show that not all Democrats are the "incorruptible saints of liberty" that you all make them out to be.
What an asshole party crasher. You're having such a great time, partying with friends and family to watch the game. Some ugly images come up to ruin the mood. Way to go!
if they are real people then why can they be shown naked clothed foetus with makeup, i can see it now
You think you're funny? Because you're not.

"Saturday night live should hire him as a writer" Throwing glitter at people isn't funny, it's just stupid.
I don't care if there's a loophole, they shouldn't be able to show something that graphic.
Bureaucracy says otherwise
Why don't they put up gory pictures of dead soldiers instead so they can stop wars?
You think you're funny? Because you're not.
erm no im making a serious point. though its controversial shit like this that gets alot of attention; randall terry is probably rubbing his hands right now at all the media coverage it's going to get and we're all to blame for it
"Saturday night live should hire him as a writer" Throwing glitter at people isn't funny, it's just stupid.
I think it was an insult to both SNL and Vermin.
So they are going to show something completely gruesome and graphic and tell people "yeah thats a human it should not be aborted"? I would say get rid of that horrid, disgusting thing off my screen, kill it now.
Let's just move the Super Bowl then.
