Ah, matthewmatosis. Always happy to see a new upload from him. May not always watch em cause it'll be about a game I have no familiarity with, but I'm glad he's still making videos.
i'm surprised he didn't bring up Forces when he talked about Sonic as a money-maker and how relevant this game is now
exhibit A of why Matthew is the best video game analyst on youtube rn
I like it that he addressed the dumber elements of postmodernism without trashing it and pointing out where its conventions can be valuable. [editline]26th February 2018[/editline] He mentioned post-postmodernism and said it's essentially splitting hairs which isn't entirely true. Post-postmodernism to what I understand are about taking postmodernism's tricks and reworking them to create meaning rather than chide it.
This was a surprisingly smart video, given the nature of the source material he was discussing. :v:
I feel like Arcane Kids is MDE if they made video games instead of videos.
so what was the hidden game about?

I enjoyed a few of the puns he threw in there. I about choked on my drink at "Get your rings off"
Oof, I wish I was smart enough to see Sonic Dreams Collection in that light. When I played either Bubsy 3D or Sonic Dreams Collection, I just thought of them as funny shitpost games taking the piss out of video games as an art form and the Sonic fandom respectively by portraying them in their logical extremes. I feel like my outlook is wrong but at the same time, can you really say that there's anything wrong with seeing them as interactive internet in-jokes rather than going down the rabbit hole of human sexuality and experiences?
I didn't understood that Busby 3D remaster game, now everything is clear. :v:

Since he's widely regarded as a more analytically inclined YouTuber when he throws a joke in it really catches you off guard and gets you good. Watching his streams it's clear that he has a pretty good sense of humor. I think this short video captures it pretty well.
