[QUOTE]An ad campaign for a product that stops snoring and claims to keep couples together is causing a stir. The campaign features a U.S. solider and a Muslim woman, ostensibly as an unlikely couple kept together by the anti-snoring product. On Monday, the panel guests on Fox News Channel’s The Kelly File debated over whether the advertisement was even controversial.
The ad features a real American soldier and his Muslim wife touting the benefits of this product. The ad was first rejected, but it has recently been approved and the couple is appearing in ads nationwide.
A spokesman for the pharmaceutical company behind the ads told Fox News Channel that the controversial campaign elicits an emotional reaction which drives interest in the product.
Kelly’s panel of guests proceeded to debate whether or not the product’s advertisement was offensive and if that kind of advertising was ethical. The Blaze anchor Buck Sexton told Megyn Kelly that he thought that the face veil worn by the women in the billboards is an offensive symbol, but the campaign otherwise was not.

Fox news did alright reporting and getting guests.
Would this legitimately trigger PTSD? Does it dishonor the sacrifices of the troops?
The people US troops are fighting in the middle east are also humans, should we ban humans from advertising?
Seems like a strange way to advertise a nasal spray either way.
"SOLIER & MUSLIM"
The Muslims aren't our enemy... The terrorists are. How hard is that to understand?

The threat to their marriage isn't religion. Its that damn snoring.
I like how they mention that the billboard is close to ground zero, as if that would be relevant in any matter.
Reminds me of that redneck bumper sticker "I learned everything about Islam on 9/11".
She'll assimilate.
no racetraitors in my merica
How dare they not demonize innocent people!

Not sure about triggering PTSD, but I'd say Fox's behavior here certainly does dishonor their efforts.
How offensive! I know a lot of snorers and they're pretty much normal people like everyone else.
Being edgy for being edgy's sake in advertising is something I hate a lot. If you need to create controversy to sell a product, the product isn't that good to begin with. Sure, you'll get publicity, but it makes you look shitty for exploiting actual interracial couples/whatever issue you choose

I'm a snorer and I have to admit that we might seem like pretty normal people compared to everyone else, but we are infact slightly better in every way. Just thought I would share.

Two birds one stone. Expose racists, sell products.
I'd take this more serious if actually some american muslim woman got offended and spoke on that program.
Not some rich woman saying she doesn't like it.
I guess the ad worked, the product got a ton of publicity because of this

I wouldn't call hating that ad makes you a racist. You can hate it for other reasons just than the two people depicted in it.
Unless you just hate middle eastern women
That's actually pretty fucking hilarious
This is what happens when you dont check your priveledge

Alot of people in right wing America seem to view all women and muslims as the enemy.

So a muslim woman is double the enemy?

The ad wasn't started off with the intention of being edgy, it was a pro-tolerance ad. After bigots tried to censor it, they fought back harder by putting it at time square which you should be supporting because it was a strike against free speech. The hatred is also ironic to the ads message of pro-tolerance.
I would have thought this was relatively common. My favorite show, NCIS, did an episode where a marine was trying to sneak his Muslim fiancé into America.

Well they're also young and portrayed as being in the lower middle class.
I don't get out much and don't watch TV.
Are people really upset about this or is it just contrived?

Its like it's the 50's and 60's all over again. Not suprised when you consider fox news average viewer age is 65.
