AQIM urged Muslim scholars, thinkers and journalists to support the Libyan people in their uprising. "We were pained by the carnage and the cowardly massacres carried out by the killer of innocents Gaddafi against our people and our unarmed Muslim brothers who only came to lift his oppression, his disbelief, his tyranny and his might," AQIM was quoted as saying in the statement. "We only came out to defend you against these despots who usurped your rights, plundered your wealth, and prevented you from having the minimum requirements of a dignified life and the simplest meanings of freedom and human dignity," AQIM said. The group, under pressure from Algerian security forces in the north, moved some of its operations to the desert area straddling Niger, Mali, Algeria and Mauritania where the vast expanses and porous borders have provided it with a safe haven. Massive protests have swept through Arab countries in past weeks, threatening Gaddafi's four-decade rule after toppling the leaders of Egypt and Tunisia. "We call upon the Muslim Libyan people to have steadfastness and patience, and we incite them to continue their struggle and revolution and to escalate it to oust the criminal tyrant," the group said.
You know you’re a terrible authoritative oppressive ruler when Al Qaeda starts to condemn you.
wow i wonder how they feel about sharing sentiments with the USA
But Gaddafi condones the bombing of planes!
There's an agenda here.
Here we go again First the greater middle-east, now northern Africa.
Soon Hitler will raise from his grave and condemn Gaddafi and call him a fucking nazi.
Soon Hitler will raise from his grave and condemn Gaddafi and call him a fucking nazi.
The sad part is that whenever I hear of stories like this, this is one of the first images to rise from my mind all the time.
I wonder if the US is suddenly going to back Gaddafi now, just because Al Qaeda is supporting the protesters.
Obviously just a PR trick by them to gain supporters, i'd suspect.
I wonder if the US is suddenly going to back Gaddafi now, just because Al Qaeda is supporting the protesters.
I hope you are high like your avatar
I was under the impression that Al Qaeda was just a name that people made up for a bunch of smaller organizations, so I don't see how "Al Qaeda", as a single entity, can back anything.
This just in: Jesus rises, Palin converts to liberalism, and Africa becomes functional.
I wonder if the US is suddenly going to back Gaddafi now, just because Al Qaeda is supporting the protesters.
No, but you know now all the nut jobs who believe this is all organized as some giant Muslim conspiracy will start making even bigger asses out of themselves.
Shit could get serious now.
People seem to forget that al qaeda doesn't do terrorism just to be fucktards, they do it because they think it's justice, but that doesn't mean they can't see unjust shit like this for what it is.
Shit could get serious now.
Shit's already serious with so many middle eastern and African countries rebelling and protesting.
I was under the impression that Al Qaeda was just a name that people made up for a bunch of smaller organizations, so I don't see how "Al Qaeda", as a single entity, can back anything.
It's contested. While it is very decentralized and regional (I hope that's a word), there's enough to suggest that all there is an organised terrorist network of Al-Qaeda.
Oh god, I have a feeling this is for the worse. I mean, next up a dictator much worse then Gaddafi.
"AQIM urged Muslim scholars, thinkers and journalists to support the Libyan people in their uprising." wait so I am not allowed to support them since I'm not Muslim?
Shit's already serious with so many middle eastern and African countries rebelling and protesting.
What? 2?
What? 2?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010%E2%80%932011_Arab_world_protests Actually quiet a bit...
Oh won't someone please think of the children?
"We were pained by the carnage and the cowardly massacres carried out by the killer of innocents Gaddafi against our people and our unarmed Muslim brothers who only came to lift his oppression, his disbelief, his tyranny and his might,"
What an ironic statement.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010%E2%80%932011_Arab_world_protests Actually quiet a bit...
I stand corrected.
Al Qaeda is controlled by the U.S anyway, no surprise there. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] The only real wars are caused by the U.S these days. History is repeating itself, the sacrifices increase, and time draws short for us.
""We were pained by the carnage and the cowardly massacres carried out by the killer of innocents Gaddafi" That is priceless.
"AQIM urged Muslim scholars, thinkers and journalists to support the Libyan people in their uprising." wait so I am not allowed to support them since I'm not Muslim?
Yup.
Al Qaeda is controlled by the U.S anyway, no surprise there. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] The only real wars are caused by the U.S these days. History is repeating itself, the sacrifices increase, and time draws short for us.
Are you retarded?
Oh my god people against the oppression of a religious group is fighting against the oppression of a religious group. I don't see why this is such a surprise to you people.
There's an agenda here.
We both want him out, but the Western world would want a secular leader, and Al Qaeda would want a theocracy, and a more pious leader.
