had to look up if this was the full story because this sounds too ridiculous to be true... ... it's true.
Hey guys! I have indeed removed the SirFoch from the community contributor program and also asked him to remove his content about the Chrysler K. from his channel. The reason for this is not the fact that he criticized the tank or the company, but the way he did it. The video was offensive inappropriate and frankly, slanderous. I think anyone who has seen it will agree with me on this. To be clear, we are fine with our contributors criticizing our content in their videos and we don’t plan to “censor” their content in any way. However I think all of us can agree that the CC program is built on mutual trust and respect. The only thing we ask from our contributors is to respect that relationship and the product/team they are working with. I think a video full of insults and offensive remarks against us violates that trust. This doesn’t mean that we are severing all ties with Foch, he is still a part of our community, but for now he won’t be part of the CC program. As far as Circon is concerned, he is still our contributor and we will continue to work with him. The video I asked him to remove also contained quite personal and offensive content. Circon agreed to removed it after I pointed it out. I hope that this clarifies things. If you have questions about this please don’t hesitate to do so here. I’ll be out of the office until tomorrow, but I’ll make sure to answer once I am back in the office. Ph3lan Wargaming EU Community Manager
https://thearmoredpatrol.com/2017/05/18/sirfoch-no-longer-a-community-contributor-wg-against-free-speech/ Video of his review is inside. Worst things he said was "Fuck Wargaming", "We're greedy fucks at Wargaming", "This gun is AIDs", "GG wargaming and fuck you"
Why do the only tank battle games gotta be made by shitty russian devs who hate their communities? Both Wargaming and Gaijin are awful.
I don't see how they aren't completely within their rights to ditch him. He was hostile right off the bat in that video, and although his criticisms are completely valid, he wasn't voicing them in a productive way at all. If he had simply voiced the criticisms over the collision model in a way that doesn't just come down to "fuck wargaming" and "fuck wargaming for being greedy", I highly doubt they'd have done anything to him. I played War Thunder for quite a while on PS4, and although it is incredibly fun at times, and clearly has a ton of work put into it, the micro-transactions are off the charts. These types of games are created solely for money grubbing, so for him to be such a huge part of the World of Tanks community, and go on such a dumb tirade over something that isn't remotely new, I just don't get that.
What else has WG done? i'm super not familiar with them so
Jim sounds LEGIT mad
Why do the only tank battle games gotta be made by shitty russian devs who hate their communities? IMO, the latest updates to WT have been well polished, and at least they know how to take jabs at themselves
What else has WG done? i'm super not familiar with them so
I know that one of the WG staff confirmed on their forums that Polish tanks are never gonna get added to their game because some of their devs (being Russian) hate Poland. Do you really think about that and then think "oh well because he was rude devs get to break the law to censor that criticism". Get out of here. Sometimes devs deserve some harsh language describing their game, and if it's not even on their website it's outside their domain.

I don't know about this status and I don't know the degree of professionalism expected from community contributors, but if it's well established that they shouldn't go off the deepend then I'm honestly going to have to side with Wargaming for revoking his status. As for the video takedown, that's a stupid move and you can't really defend that. [editline]20th May 2017[/editline] Oh here's the Circon thing that caused him to get shitcanned from the program https://www.twitch.tv/videos/143915133?t=02h07m17s He was added back in after he removed it. What he said wasn't even that bad so this looks terrible for Wargaming.
At least Gaijin aren't malicious like WG, they're just incompetent.
Well, there's that too
At least Gaijin aren't malicious like WG, they're just incompetent.
Gaijin have done some pretty terrible shit like this:
As you can see in http://www.steamprices.com/eu2/dlc/244350/war-thunder-mustang-advanced-pack , the price of the Mustang Pack was originally $19.99, and was placed on sale as part of the summer sale down to $14.99. The price has since been raised to $27.99 non-sale pricing, which means the reduction due to the summer sale brings the price to $20.99; $1 more than the pack cost originally before the sale. Its a pretty cheap strategy, and I'm aware its not unheard of for other companies to do similar in steam sales, but this is the first time I've seen the "sale" price be greater than the original price dictated. Others have said that this is just them catching up on the price raise they have/are going to implement on the packs on their site, but its still a pretty cheap tactic to make use of the sale to disguise it. EDIT: all prices in USD
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/28pimv/mustang_pack_price_raised_from_1999_to_2799_on/
Gaijin has indeed been borderline malicious at times. Most of it can be chalked up to incompetence and cultural differences, but there are instances like the above. There are some lesser and more neutral ones I could name but won't bother getting into (like purposefully setting people's shop to Japanese region for activating a promo-code that you shouldn't have, and if you contact support to fix it, they take away the small pittance of gubbins you got for doing so - such as a decoration and some decals.) Aside from butchering the rate of grinding in the game and some questionable power creep/new absurdly good premium vehicles near endgame, however, I'd say they've done far better recently than 2-3 years ago. The Chrysler K is on a whole 'nother level from WT's new IS-6, which gets slaughtered when its the bottom dog.
Why do the only tank battle games gotta be made by shitty russian devs who hate their communities? Both Wargaming and Gaijin are awful.
Armored Warfare had a short-lived run before a pretty nasty crash and burn. It's more because a "pseudo tank sim" game is best set for a F2P market, and Western devs just aren't bothering. If it's a paid game or too realistic/hard to play, it becomes extremely niche, like Steel Beasts.
