(CNN) – Beyoncé and Jay-Z are continuing to face heat from Republicans in Washington for their jaunt last week to Cuba, which remains off-limits for Americans looking only for a tropical vacation. "How nice it would have been if they had said something about freedom and human rights,” Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen told CNN. She and fellow Florida Republican Mario Diaz-Balart are calling on the Treasury Department to reveal whether the superstar couple traveled to Cuba legally. “I'm not saying they should be politicians, but be sensitive to the cruelty of this regime, what they've done to the people of Cuba,” Ros-Lehtinen continued, adding it was “a shame to make it look like an exotic vacation. Shameful." Ros-Lehtinen and Diaz-Balart both represent districts in South Florida, which large populations of Cuban-Americans call home.
Source.
Out of all the people you can talk to, you complain about celebrities? Granted, I don't give a shit about celebrities and particularly these two, so this looks ever dumber in my eyes, since they're not something anybody should really care too much about outside of their output.
I've been to Cuba. It's a pretty cool place. The only shame here Mr and Mrs Republican is the fact that you continue to put restrictions on travel to a little country because of a war that ended in 1967
The US certainly has some awful vendettas on countries they failed to fuck.
If people aren't free to travel where they like isn't that a form of kidnapping?
I wonder how many of these GOPtards would have a problem visiting Israel. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline]
I've been to Cuba. It's a pretty cool place.
I'm going this year, I've always wanted to go.
Its hilarious because the embargo on Cuba is pointless, the US has international trade and such with far worse countries. Cuba isnt even that bad compared to other places in South America. This is a relic from the Cold War.
What exactly is supposed to be so bad about Cuba? All I really know about it is that the US seems to really hate Cuba for siding with the Soviets during the cold war.

is this for real? is this really the only thing the gop can attempt to garner support? playing nationalism against a black celebrity couple for visiting a country that nobody actually hates anymore? [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] i wonder if jay will have a verse about this in his next album
Cuba is one of Canada's top tourist destinations, lots of my friends have been there, apparently it's wonderful.
For Some reason it's Seeming like the patriots from mgs4 are real.. I don't see why the usa has so many stupid people in gov and vendettas otherwise
