• Deadliest Warrior or Deadliest Wepon?

I think "Deadliest Weapons" would be a far more appropriate title. All they do is look at some sample weapons from each warrior and arbitrarily decide which has an advantage at its particular range. They put these into the simulator and it comes out with the winner... they never factor in fighting style, techniques, tactics, or anything that defines a warrior. Say you have two fighters with swords, Fighter A has a much superior sword than Fighter B. Fighter B, however, has trained heavily in disarming techniques while Fighter A hasn't - Fighter B is going to win a whole lot more than Fighter A in reality, but not in the computer program! The pirate may have better weapons but the Knight has far more combat training and experience, so I think he'd win. Yet the Pirate would win easily on a boat because of his "sea legs." Similarly, the Apache may have crazy weapons, but the gladiator has a lot more practical experience against "Savages" and people of low technology. Apaches and other indian warriors didn't really fight to kill in their days, and the fight to the death concept would be pretty foreign to them compared to a Gladiator. But this sort of thing isn't factored in! Their "experts" are seldom actual experts... the "Ninja Masters" on their show were both frauds... one was a voice actor and the other was a wushu stuntman! Their information isn't always accurate, Ninjas actually did have armor... And the weapons they use aren't even always the right weapons! Plus, the videos are pretty silly. You have a Viking Warrior with a large wooden shield on his back, and he just stands there stupidly while the Samurai draws a bow and shoots at him? The Ninja manages to blind the Spartan but instead of taking advantage and getting a killing blow, he runs away?? And he escapes but then rolls into view to fire the blowgun from the front (instead of staying in the trees and firing it from the side or back)? Huh? I don't get what all the hype is for.

The Film and TV section is south of general discussion sweetiepie, go down one next time.
its entertainment, did you expect it to be accurate
its entertainment, did you expect it to be accurate
Well, Everyone at my school has this big ass hype for it, and now they are selling this shitty game on XBL market place that makes no sense at all.

Spoony did a few good reviews of both the show and the game. Check 'em out.
God Damn you A key!
I only watch it to see the weapon tests, anyone who thinks there's any validity to the science they do on the show is an idiot. Just enjoy it for the entertainment man.
wepon
I think people just watch it for the parts where they shoot the wepon real fast at the enemies.
Well, Everyone at my school has this big ass hype for it, and now they are selling this shitty game on XBL market place that makes no sense at all.
that game is actually pretty fun, the apache is op
You have a point, but it's entertainment I just noticed you typed wepon.
that game is actually pretty fun, the apache is op
The "one-hit-kills" could've been better though.
the deadliest wepon the OP has in his possession is the ability to make bad threads!
Well, Everyone at my school has this big ass hype for it, and now they are selling this shitty game on XBL market place that makes no sense at all.
That game is fun as shit man.
That game is fun as shit man.
ya it is yo its like mortal kombat only its a different game
The weapons are what makes the warrior. It would be flat out stupid to just have different fighting styles go against each other. You also can't expect them to go all Mythbusters on this one and test just about every single detail, and your Pirates and Knights argument is generally bullshit because Pirates were actually part of the Navy before, not just some fishermen. [editline]02:12AM[/editline] Obviously the videos are stupid because they just needed a method to entertain you with the program results rather than just show you a bunch of boring graphs. As everyone stated here, it's entertainment, they go for money not validity. If you want something more scientific, don't expect it to come from Spike, Discovery channel is your best bet. :v:
ya it is yo its like mortal kombat only its a different game
I hope you aren't being sarcastic because it isn't like Mortal kombat.
Like Heroms said, everyone goes, "Their computer sucks because in the fight the ninja went 'Hyaa!' and the Spartan knew he was there!", or "That Apache got punched square in the face with a spike glove, he'd be dead!" That's not the computer's fault. They made it interesting, built up tension through the show. It would suck if the entire show led to one thing, and then someone fired an arrow and it was all over.
I wish they'd give out this computer game they talk so much about that they use to test these battles.
I don't like either, but I do find some of the fights in Warrior to be quite humorous.
It shouldn't be taken with any amount of seriousness. They grouped up Wermacht versus the Vietcong for instance, with the Flammenwerfer vs poop on sharpened sticks.
I'd rather see Wehrmacht vs. WWII SAS, or Apache vs. 1800s US Soldier, something possible. Not ancient Chinese warrior vs. modern Musketeer crap. This whole "uber1337 anseitn gy vrs futre wriros epic winz ftw", the ridiculous pairing of old warriors vs. new warriors, shit is getting annoying. The only two that break this shitcycle are IDF vs. Marines and Spetsnaz vs. Marines.
Honestly though the Pirate vs knight kinda angered me.
and then gordon freeman got the wepon!
