If your about to say "Em Fows R Betar lul. Fuk Jihid lul." then GTFO and take your fail with you. Vote for your favorite AK and tell why. #1: The Original AK-47. Simple, yet robust! #2: The AKS-74. Smaller round that is apparently more accurate and reduces recoil. It also has the folding stock so you can dual wield with ease (lets act like that's why they put it there.) #3: The RPK-74. A AK-74 made to be more accurate and durable for support weapon use. Commonly used in the First Chechen War when PKMs weren't available. #4: The AKMS. An AKM with an underfolding stock made for paratroopers and special operations units. #5: The AKS-74UN. A shortened AKS-74 with a flash suppressor. Oddly enough, the flash suppressor makes it kick harder and have more noise. #6: The Modernized AK. It comes in many styles and looks, but one thing is consistent, RIS rails. Some may call it an abomination. Some may call it a goddess. Some may not give a damn. #7: The PP-19 Bizon. A 9mm SMG which is essentially a heavily modified AKS-74UN. Has been untouched by video games for the most part, and is one of the most unique guns today. #8: The SVD Dragunov. A DMR created on the AK base. Unlike popular belief, it is not a sniper and it never was created to be one. It was made to provide covering fire at ranges of 600 meters. It was not accurate enough to be considered a sniper though. So Facepunch, what is your favorite AK?
The original, of course.
You got some broken pictures there. Also you should add an actual poll. If I really HAD to choose it would be 3 or 5
Where is the Chinese variant?
Where is the Chinese variant?
What is it's name?
Type 56
Type 56
So an AK-47?
Why no RK-95? I would have voted for that if we had the option but I already voted for the AKS-74.
You're missing all the cool AK's! AK-103 The AK-103 is a modern, Russian-designed version of the famous AKM assault rifle, chambered for the 7.62x39mm M43 round. It combines the AKM design with developments from the AK-74 and AK-74M, with the use of plastics to replace metal or wooden components wherever possible to reduce overall weight. AK-105 The AK-105 is a shortened carbine version of the AK-74M rifle, which in turn was derived from the original AK-47 design and its AK-74 successor. The AK-102, AK-104, and AK-105 are very similar in design, the only difference being the caliber and corresponding magazine type. The AK-105 is chambered to fire 5.45x39mm ammunition. AKM (how did you miss this one?) [IMG_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/AKM-JH01.jpg[/IMG_thumb] The AKM is a 7.62mm assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is an upgraded version of the AK-47 rifle and was developed in the 1950s. AK-74 The AK-74 is a 5.45mm assault rifle developed in the early 1970s in the Soviet Union. It was developed from the earlier AKM (itself a refined version of the AK-47) and introduced in 1974. [editline]05:21AM[/editline]
So an AK-47?
It's a Chinese ripoff of the AK-47. In airsoft though, its the same.
So an AK-47?
There are several key differences. Those differences would personally pull out it's cock and whip you like a stage coach driver with it.
Modern AK- 0 votes Lets keep it that way.
Modern AK- 0 votes Lets keep it that way.
Just because of that someone is going to vote for it now.
No Groza? or AN94? :ussr:
I came looking for the AN-94. I am disappoint.
There is no Galil. I'm with Venom.
I voted AKs-74u, since that was my second in line anyways. Still, without the AN-94, I'm disappoint.
Not voting until the AK's I posted are in poll.
Honestly, I don't like AKs that much. I like sleek and tactical looking guns. I know there are tactical AKs but they look like shit.
SVD, I play a Sniper/DMR role.
Right now I have a three-way tie between the AK-74, AKM and Galil. I want the OP to be updated with the ones listed by Stupideye before I make a final vote.
For the AN-94 crowd - it's not an AK variant, although it does take AK-74 mags. Closest "proper" AK variant to the AN-94 would be the AK-107
What about the VSS? Isn't it related?
Okay, stop posting here and I'll make a new thread with more AKs, some other related guns, and all the shits your guys requested. Some of those I actually did consider posting but forgot to in the end. Like the AN-94, RK-95, and the AK-105.
I like all of them except the ugly duckling (Tacticool AK). But my favorite one would have to be a the AKS-74. Easy to carry and has a foldable stock.
The AK-200, which Putin special ordered just recently:
The next generation AK has finally been given a name: AK-200. The prototype featured a >>60 round magazine<<, folding stock, plenty of picatinny rails and a bipod/handguard. The final model retains the rails and 60 round magazine but now uses what appears to be a folding skeleton-style stock. What is that abomination?
