No sources 'yet' but Chirs Evans was on BBC's the One show today and he spoke about Top gear and his reasoning for saying yes to the job, as well as him being the producer of the show. When asked about who the other hosts might be he said he's going to be running open auditions for literally anybody providing they have a keen interest in cars and know their shit, more information tomorrow during his radio 2 show tomorrow but the gist of it is, Hammond and May were found in the same manner so he wants to do it again. Currently the only source thats reported it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3126945/Chris-Evans-new-presenter-Gear-signing-three-year-deal-present-show.html
That's actually a neat idea.
I can't stop reading his name as Rich Evans. Please help.
I'm still not happy about the whole affair but i admit, open auditions are a good idea, he also talked very passionately about Top Gear and seemed like a genuine fan of the show so maybe there is a 'slither' of hope that something not 'total shit' can come out of this. Only news source thats reported on it thus far, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3126945/Chris-Evans-new-presenter-Gear-signing-three-year-deal-present-show.html
I kinda like him and think he's a good fit, but at the same time I feel bad for him because he's NEVER going to hear the end of being "the next guy".
He can never step in the big shoes that the original trio left behind. But he seems damn determined to make his own pair.
Call me pessimistic, but I don't see the BBC trying to save 'Top Gear' with Joe & Jane Public. They've already ruled out an entire gender for one of them.

For some reason i played Euro truck simulator 2 before i slept and he was on the bbc radio channel (I never listen to UK radio so i think he was the host or something???) and he was talkin about how he got picked and stuff was pretty neat to hear about though i dont trust anyone with top gear
I can't stop thinking, "Captain America is hosting Top Gear?"
Gigantic influx of women for auditions. I certainly wouldn't blame them for it. Dude's handsome as fuck. ontopic, does one have to know how the wizards make their magic under the bonnet like James May, or is someone who knows how to work a hammer also qualified for a job?

You could sit at home watching F1 and Toca Touring all day, so long as you can hold a conversation about them you'd meet the basic criteria. But there's gonna be more to it than that, a lot of people can talk about cars but most of those will be like this, only not satirical. regular car reviews guy

If I could, I'd make my Gran Turismo plays my actual real life (buying all the cars I could, some multiple times, to have different versions of each, with or without modifications) Then again, May doesn't talks about F1 or anything of the sort but talks about the technical bits, so I guess I could do the job... Well, a quarter of it. I'd never EVER be able to come up with the entertaining stuff Jezza May and Hammond have had since forever. But he'd be somewhat fit for the job. He's spot on in his reviews.
He is a good choice. Digital Spy had a Twitter reaction thread that reaffirms why I don't bother with it. Some thick people that are judging a show that hasn't been made yet. It will clearly be very different in some areas but could still be just as good as the previous generation. It's only the name that will let it down as it will evoke strong memories about the show beforehand. I'd like Suzi Perry to co-host if they do push the female presenter thing.
