Hacker group Anonymous said late Wednesday that its Antisec movement hacked and defaced Turkish government websites, in protest against new Internet filtering rules that come into force in the country in August.
The group said it released data from about 100 websites in Turkey, and put up its logo and message on some 74 websites, criticizing what it described as greater control over the Internet in Turkey, including blocks on thousands of websites and blogs.
The websites on the list included medical-related sites such as that of a children's hospital, but did not appear to include websites of key government ministries. Websites like those of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Interior were unaffected.
The hacks released are part of a "Turkish Takedown Thursday" action planned by the group. Its Antisec program, started in June with the now disbanded hacker group LulzSec, targets governments, law enforcement, and corporations.
Turks took to the streets in May to protest against the new filtering scheme, which plans to introduce four levels of filtering - family, children, domestic, or standard - for Internet users by August 22. While protestors describe the rules as mandatory, the government has said they are optional filters for the protection of families.
These people need to stop doing and fade into nothing this if they want to have a chance at not spending the rest of there life in jail.
I think hacking a children's hospital is acceptable, it's not like it will impact anything.
I rather see some silly shit on the homepage of a children's hospital then big brother watching me fap to lolicon.

They already passed, i got hogtied with a sock in my ass. I didn't write that first post.
I disliked AntiSec the first time they popped up, and I always will.
Real, lasting change comes slowly, not through shit like this.
Give it a rest, you moronic rebellious teenagers.
Up next the Grand Facepunch Hack.

Pedophile.
And this is dumb, why?
Pedophile.
Only in Britain. Afaik it's not illegal elsewhere.
Pedophile.
Although I think lolicon is weird, fapping to it =/= Pedophillia, they're just drawn pictures

Just like fapping to yaoi doesn't make you gay

uh what
I'm tired of all these internet wizards thinking they're these awesome "epic lulzy" hollywood-esque hacking revolutionaries. They're not. They're just a bunch of brainwashed 4chan users whose spergy selves think this Anonymous gimmick is an amazing and hip thing.
I hope the FBI begins taking this shit seriously so I can see their fucking cheeto-dust encrusted neckbeards on their tearful mugshot. Plus more news articles about "his mother was his only friend" and "he told his mother he was playing video games".
uh what
Exactly.
I'm not entirely sure what they think they'll achieve by taking down a country's website. It's not as if the country is on its knees.

I hope they can spell "their" correctly.
Real, lasting change comes slowly, not through shit like this.
Yea but it definitely helps. I mean they are creating publicity which is a good thing.

That's the most retarded fucking logic I've ever seen.

Hacking children's hospitals doesn't really sound like good publicity to me.

Bad publicity on the other hand isn't.
