[t]http://i.imgur.com/By5k6kE.png[/t] and you have to pay $300 more if you want that touch bar (that version of the laptop is faster too) [t]http://i.imgur.com/OM5nRGe.png[/t] http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro https://www.engadget.com/2016/10/27/meet-the-macbook-pro-s-new-touchbar-with-touchid/ http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/
Why dont they have i7's in them
Why dont they have i7's in them
you can add one to any model for $300 extra
Why dont they have i7's in them
profit margins would drop below 95%
That's a surprisingly gimmicky feature for a Macbook.
you can add one to any model for $300 extra
so basically the same price of just buying one outright. not even a mark down.
Call me a fanboy, but I really love this TouchBar idea.
Call me a fanboy, but I really love this TouchBar idea.
I agree. I think it is a super neat Idea.
1800 dollars for an i5, 8 gigs of ram, and a 256 ssd. Right. Now i remember why I dont buy apple computers.
I'll stick with my screen being touchscreen not some bar i'll never use, thanks.
$1500 and you get a 2.0ghz processor? The fuck? Is it 2005?
1800 dollars for an i5, 8 gigs of ram, and a 256 ssd. Right. Now i remember why I dont buy apple computers.
Yeah, fuck that. This pricing is retarded.
I'll stick with my screen being touchscreen not some bar i'll never use, thanks.
To me it makes sense. The problem with my touchscreen laptop is that I have to take my hands off the keyboard to use it. It interrupts my typing, and is awkward to use full-stop in a lot of positions I'd use the laptop in, since there's nowhere to rest my arm when I'm using the touch screen. This puts a touch panel where the F keys are, which is already in my typing muscle memory. I'm not going to buy the laptop because the pricing is ridiculous (and I use the F keys all the time), but this is genuinely a nice idea.
I could probably build something more powerful than this for half the cost. B-but it won't be paper thin!!!!!
good god you can get a really nice comp just above 1000 dollars which is far better than any macbook created I always try not to spend money on stupid things but there are people that buy Apple products like their life depended on it, never gonna understand them
They showed courage again in their cable department: https://www.engadget.com/2016/10/27/youll-need-a-new-cable-to-connect-the-macbook-pro-and-iphone-7/

Not to circlejerk too hard but Apple's prices are insane, especially since you can get virtually the same thing for a third of the price. The Macbook pro having MacOS is not an excuse because Hackintoshs are a thing.

Why does anyone buy into this b.s.?

It needs to go
This isn't even the same thing Usb type a is 20 years old and has a massively better successor. Its just an extra "fuck you" thrown on top [editline]27th October 2016[/editline]
ikr, theres also an argument to be made that these laptops are sacrificesing practicality for slimness since they have a habit of removing ports such as USB, charging and drives as well as battery size to reduce size while cramming everything into a smaller package also boosts production costs
And the thinness thing I don't get. There's never been a scenario where I've been glad that phones are so thin. When's the last time you heard someone say "oh thank God my laptop is so thin!". I get that it looks nice (i guess) and saves a little bulk in your bag but if you're sacrificing ports and other features just for LOOK ITS THIN!!! factor, it's not worth it at all Personally it seems like a negative trait to be guaranteed broken if dropped/mishandled once

"Take that, Microsoft... ?"
But when google did it, it's fine. As for laptops themselves - I am dissapointed.
Anyone who does it can get fucked. Its a clear moneygrab scheme Last post and I'm done bashing, but IMO if Apple was a café, you'd pay $12 for 12oz of burnt diner coffee in a really fancy mug, drink it (and it tastes like mud, of course), hate it, leave, and then in the car ride home be like "that was really good I can't wait to go back"
i don't really give much of a fuck what processors are in it because i'll end up buying one when my current macbook pro dies but at two and a half grand it's a bit of a fucking bump
Anyone who does it can get fucked. Its a clear moneygrab scheme
Well, someone have to do the move to Type C without adapters. Frankly, these type of comments were common when they ditched serial connectors in favor of USB.

To be fair, the touchstrip is pretty neat. But A) if the screen is already touch (and I don't know if it is) this would be pretty pointless and B) way to be beaten to the punch by at least five years. Though if the screen isn't touch, that's honestly a neat little bit of extra functionality. Now whether it's worth an extra $300...
hah, I built a PC last year that would murder this thing for $1300
