Here are some illustrations I have been doing recently for friends. I think they have turned out nicely, the first one is a self portrait. Let me know what you guys think. looks traced
Gee erm thanks? They're not. Its all part of my degree.
Such shaky lines are normally an indication for tracing. Proportions seem to be correct, but the shading/hatching is a bit bland. I like the guy with the cap best, has the most interesting structures going on.(oh but the ear is a bit small)
Not a fan of the shakiness, or the scrawly chicken scratch hair
Looks good. But i have to agree with VHASE, the lines are very shaky as if you have traced them
I don't like the first one (looks rushed) but the dude with the hat is epic. Try to aim for that quality more next time
Be careful not to make thick outlines where the light hits the face/hair. It's alright to break lines off - even outer lines, in order to create an effect of light and shadow. Right now they look very cartoony and messy because of the amount of lines you've added. - Especially be careful with where you place your lines in hair and such. Try and look at pencilled portraits made by professionals - You'll see what I mean then.
Does look traced, the squiggly lines are a dead give away and the fact there are no gesture lines either doesn't help the cause.
