• John Wick 2 drops off radar in Australia
John Wick 2 premieres internationally in one week. But the film hasn't been classified in Australia, and none of the major cinema chains have a set screening date for it. So what's happening? We got in touch with all of Australia's major cinema chains across the country to ask what was going on, and we were told that "the distributors locally have made no announcement" — so there's no film for the cinemas to actually book into their schedules. The Australian arm of film distribution company Entertainment One, which has the rights to release John Wick 2 internationally and is handling promotion for the film, told Gizmodo that there's "no update yet" on a local screening date.
http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2017/02/where-is-john-wick-2-australia-demands-answers/ Some friends and i tried to organise some tickets for this presuming it was going to get released here at the same time everywhere else, instead we find no one knows anything about that's happening. The short: -Hasn't been classified so it can't legally be screened. -Cinemas know nothing -Distributer is tight lipped I don't generally like Gizmodo as a source but I think they can be trusted for this.
Well that's some bullshit. I want to see if he single handingly takes out the American, Italian and Russian Mafia, Yakuzas, Mexican Cartels and ISIS after someone shoots his new dog.
Sounds like someone dropped the ball.
Not this bullshit again I hope.
in my country the movie was never released until the sequel's first trailer came out
i noticed it wasn't on any cinema website and started to get worried. i'm pretty sure the first one did well here? what's the deal
GG :v:
I can't help but to think of the Archer ant meme, when it comes to piracy in Australia.
Bumping this, so anyone following has an update. Screen date for AU/NZ is now April 20 https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2017/02/john-wick-2-finally-has-an-australian-release-date/
So do they want to have a bad showing in AUS/NZ? Everyone who will want to watch the movie will have already torrented it already
Swedes can't see it as well. Sucks real ass if you ask me.
Swedes can't see it as well. Sucks real ass if you ask me.
WHAT! And I thought I would drag myself to the cinema for once.
WHAT! And I thought I would drag myself to the cinema for once.
SF thought "it wouldn't bring enough income" because the first movie was only seen 14,000 times on cinema. But still they show worthless movies people don't care about.

I hope it isn't like Saint Row 4. They've gotta edit the film or game to make it "viewable" for Australians.
I hope it isn't like Saint Row 4. They've gotta edit the film or game to make it "viewable" for Australians.
you get what you vote for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
you get what you vote for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I specifically voted for John Wick.
I hope it isn't like Saint Row 4. They've gotta edit the film or game to make it "viewable" for Australians.
now that youve said it, I cant think of any other reason that makes more sense than this aside from someone just completely fucking up.
I didn't realize it was close to release, I just checked and the first showing locally in my town is in a bit over two hours. I just woke up... screw that, too lazy.
Australia always doin something weird with entertainment. Censoring and this shit.
Apparently my local cinema is not showing John Wick 2, to get room for Fifty Shades Darker Not sure if it's true, but it sucks regardless
That's just shithouse, not showing Keanu kickass so they can show a movie written on a blackberry.
I hope it isn't like Saint Row 4. They've gotta edit the film or game to make it "viewable" for Australians.
South Park and Saints Row were censored for weird dildo in butt stuff I really doubt this movie has weird dildo butt stuff
South Park and Saints Row were censored for weird dildo in butt stuff I really doubt this movie has weird dildo butt stuff
Nah, it violent, as you would expect, but nothing really sexual or such.
South Park and Saints Row were censored for weird dildo in butt stuff I really doubt this movie has weird dildo butt stuff
Saints Row was for drugs, not sex. There's a mission in the game where you take some weird alien drugs for a powerup or something and the ratings board says you can't have purely positive depictions of any drugs in video games because it might make kids do real drugs.
So do they want to have a bad showing in AUS/NZ? Everyone who will want to watch the movie will have already torrented it already
With how well Austrailian internet works tyey'll still be downloading it
Australia always doin something weird with entertainment. Fortunately, the developers are cool and said they were fine with Australians pirating the game because it's the only way for us to play it.

So it was drugs plus buttsex. [editline]18th February 2017[/editline]
My favourite was when they banned Hotline Miami 2 because it has a sexual assault scene which I can literally watch on YouTube. All you even see is a top-down view of a guy vaguely thrusting on top of a girl.
With how well Austrailian internet works tyey'll still be downloading it
It's only going to get awful quality cam rips or maybe a terrible dvd screener. It won't take more than a week or two tops.
