Someone needs to make a bot that uses this exact formula to generate completely randomized movie trailers (think of the inspirational quotes bot page).
It misses the intro trailer for the trailer.
This is way too on point.
Anyone know what film this is for?
Trailer totally sucked me in. I'm ready to watch it when it comes out this [INSERT FILM-RELEASE SEASON HERE].

something like ShitPostBot would be cool, where users could submit clips from films or lines of dialogue that fit into the template, like "A SHOT OF SOMEONE OR SOMETHING BAD" and stuff, then have some moderators that sift through the submissions and chuck out the ones that are garbage and authorize the clips that are good, and then feed those into a bot that randomly puts them together and uploads them to a youtube channel every few hours or so
think the only thing that'd be tricky would be the soundtrack, though. you'd have to have a bunch of songs and different templates for each of them. but if it was done well it could probably churn out some convincing / hilarious videos
Damn I can't wait for this.

I feel like a film graduate simply by watching this

I really hope they actually release a full thing of that spin me right round cover. :v:
It's worth noting that this formula fucking works.
Inception horns are what the film will truly be remembered for

There are already bots creating royalty free music, could probably be used
They missed the part where the trailer syncs up the beats of the music to action shots very poorly.
Are there people whose job it is to edit trailers together and nothing else?

Pretty much this. It doesn't matter how awful it is, if it sells, companies will use it.

There are entire studios dedicated to cutting trailers.
Are there people whose job it is to edit trailers together and nothing else?
Yes.
They are sometimes referred to as "trailer studios" or "trailer houses."
One of the most notable examples is Trailer Park, Inc, who focus on making trailers and other marketing media (commercials, ad spots, etc) for both entertainment media and professional advertisements for things like medical equipment.

it works for people who dont care about movies so theres that i suppose
i mean most big movies these days are made for people who dont care about movies but i digress
I don't miss trailers with shitty narration but it's sad we don't get anything like this anymore:

'Introduce unexpected cover of a classic hit'.
Oh my god, I still can't believe this is a thing. Because when I want to see a trailer, I wanna have it soundtracked by an often dull, lifeless cover of an often happy, upbeat song.

That one cover of Everybody Wants to Rule the World pisses me off.
It missed the part after the ending title where they finish off with a light-hearted moment/joke.
