This is my third piece of digital art. Inspired and based upon artwork from the game's loading screens. Critiques please. Note: stock image used for the planet in the background.
damn it turned out well. Shading in some areas like the gun is abit weir dnad doesent'r reflect, eyes are not reflecting, those conres I mentioned earlier are still there and neck is a bit shoddy. But the shading and colouring if you ignore some basic truths is quite awesome.
Thanks a lot! I know I've still got a lot to learn, especially about the basics, but I'm pretty proud of this considering it's my third piece.
Love it
I like your drawing and I like the quality and "details" of your shading. However, I don't like the colours and look of your shading. It looks very much like dodge and burn, and if that is what you did then no wonder. If you handpainted it I can't help but question why you would chose colours that gives the same result as dodge and burn tool.
I loved that game as a kid
Oh yeah, don't dodgeburn and I hated the colours as well, but now after you've finished it they're not that bad But they're still not good. They feel out of date.
Thanks for the comments and critiques, guys.
I remember playing Earthworm Jim 3D on my cousin's N64. As for the picture, I like the lighting and the contrast between the blue and orange. My only crit is that some edges look a bit jagged and sharp. Like on the inside of the very last bend at his head you can see that the curve isn't completely smooth. The edges vary from a bit too blurry (upper lip) too way too sharp (left eyelid)
I really like the feeling and details of this painting. However, the shading in the right eye (Jim's left) is a little bit weird for my taste. Otherwise then that, I think it looks really good. Still the colors could be a little warmer...
Wow it's really good, the colors are amazing.
Yay finaly i have à iPad background!! Great work. I lover earhworm jim when i was i Kid. And i still have it and play it sometimes wen i'm bored.

Great! Just, his bottom teeth are a tad jagged, wouldn't of noticed if I didn't look but :D
Wow. Thanks for the response, everyone!
I love it! :) Keep up the good work!!!
Haven't I seen this before? No..?
Haven't I seen this before? No..?
I think he posted an early W.I.P of it in the "creative works that doesn't deserve a thread" thread.

However, the pose is replicated from the loading screens of the original game... well, as replicated as I could have managed with the terrible reference photo I took.
Very good image, also Earthworm Jim has always been creepy.
