Teacher at my school caught having "inappropriate relation" with a student. - Polidicks

"The New Trier High School District board Wednesday fired German teacher [name withheld] amid allegations she had an “inappropriate relationship” with a student at the school. District Supt. Linda Yonke announced the move in an e-mail to the New Trier community. On Tuesday, the district confirmed that [withheld] had been suspended last week for what the district described as “misconduct.” Officials have not disclosed the nature of the inappropriate relationship involving [withheld], who has taught German at New Trier since 2003, and has been working full-time at the Winnetka Campus. Yonke’s message said the school “immediately notified the proper authorities” once it learned of the allegations against [withheld], “and an investigation is ongoing.” Chicago police are investigating the allegations against [withheld], who lives in the city, sources said, No charges have been filed against her. “Administrators and social workers met with students in Ms. [withheld]’s classes on Tuesday and will be available for any students who may need support on an ongoing basis,” Yonke said." Sorry for blanking the name, but I want to protect her privacy. Technically we're not supposed to be talking about this. This was a pretty big shock for me, for two large reasons. One, I was planning on taking German this year, but decided against it.
