Just a teaser to see if the idea worked.
Also known as “Day 308″
This is just a teaser for a short movie, that is being developed as the final draft for the degree in photography, yes, I decided to develop the photography and lightning of a short movie… Watch for updates in the near future…

Unfortunatly, this is on Vimeo, mediatags don't work with this website, so you need to folow the link...
i really don't like that filter used.
you cannot make digital video recordings look like film with just presets.

Agreed...
Just a teaser to see if the idea worked... Those are not presets or filters.
The edition of those 3 seconds went on for days... noise, back ground noise, contrasts, saturations that was all put there to make it look that bad...
I don't really know what M_B meant, but either way I liked what I saw so far, even if there wasn't too much there.
there's a filter added at the end. that's what i meant. do you not know what a filter is?
I liked the rapid pan movement with the gas masked character, gave me ideas for my own upcoming project. :x

Thus, rated artistic.
there's a filter added at the end. that's what i meant. do you not know what a filter is?
Yep it's a device used to reject radiations of certain frequencies while allowing others to pass in the visible spektrum of light... (That's a image filter).
And again I tell you, no preset filter was used, we added the items I mentioned above, to the frame's, that was it, we did not apply any filters on the camera and/or on the edition process...
so you changed each frame of the video in the same way a filter would?
basically you did what the filter was designed to make you not need to do?
so you changed each frame of the video in the same way a filter would?

Nah, again we just added the noise, back ground noise, contrasts, saturations, changing the values etc... Just remenbered density too...
Unless you guys call these preset filters... that would be a completly miss-understanding, and if that's the case:
My humblest excuses...
In my view, preset is something that was done for me, and we didn't used any of "presets".
so you did the same thing as a preset, just wasted time by making it from scratch?
so you did the same thing as a preset, just wasted time by making it from scratch?
Not the same... well, created one I guess...
Agreed...

that's what i was talking about. filter or not, do not do that. not nearly as much, anyway.
[editline]04:12PM[/editline]
and it doesn't look bad in the sense that "wow this is really old film" it looks bad in the sense that "wow they did a terrible job making this look like old film, and the effect is hardly convincing at all"
Muito bom

Ok then... will try to make it look better next time.
You'll do much better taking a 16mm film sample and then overlaying it over the source footage (and using some blurred vignettes), how I did the film effect in

What program did you use to make these?

Also he's taller in some shots than others :v:.

I also think it would look better if you decreased the frame rate to make it look older
The whole "oh god apocalypse, everyone must use gasmasks" is really overused, but the rest was good.

After Effects
The size difference is obvious but not really of huge importance, was made for a university assignment on green screen compositing
I also think it would look better if you decreased the frame rate to make it look older
If anything you're better off speeding up footage slightly, it was still made in the same frame rate it is now, its just very old cameras were hand cranked and so a consistent frame rate was never easy

Final Cut Pro...
Oh wait, that question was not directed at me.
The whole "oh god apocalypse, everyone must use gasmasks" is really overused, but the rest was good.
Agreed I know it's overused, and it toke me some time until I decided to use the gas masks, (I'm the one writing the story) but it was needed, even though that's not "the apocalypse"...
Since the gas mask seem a bit overused, why not something simple like home-made respirators? Try making one yourself. It might work well

There will be several characters with respirators, simple filters in front of their faces... but the most of the characters will have gas masks, let's say, to make them stand out.
By the way, you speak portuguese? Just noticed your post above.

Actually it was at anyone :D. Why do you end your sentences with ellipses? Just wondering :).
