i was honestly caught by surprise when my boy post collabd with 21 21 is pretty dope too
this song is a tad depressing with the passing of lil peep even tho it was made before he died and had nothing to do with him but its just the beginning tbh, i think it sums up the whole soundcloud rap genre explosion

I've virtually completely given up on the genre over the past year or so, and literally just wait for new kanye, kendrick, wutang(like solo albums), and whatnot. Every fucking beat is virtually identical, and this song as well as Mask Off do a really good job of summarising half the lyrics out there
If you essentially give up on the genre because of the mainstream music, that's pretty shitty. Take a look around, with spotify you can find dozens of groups that fit what you look for. Or I can anyways. I don't think Post really fits into the rap genre per se. Seems more like a singer than anything on most of his songs. Anyways, I think this song is actually pretty catchy.
i think its funny to see post malone fucken dudes up with a samurai sword

I didn't really care for 2000-2012 rap at all really. It wasn't until the "soundcloud rap" explosion where I actually started liking rap again. I used to just listen to like Eazy E and Wu-Tang. I think Kanye hasn't been good since College Dropout though. This song is amazing, I've listened to it so many times.
At the start I didn't really like it, usually I shut it off by then, but I kept listening and actually this is song is pretty good. Not my type of genre usually. I only really kept listening because I know h3h3 knows this guy.

The mainstream scene is kinda shit rn but there's still gems amongst the shit. You just gotta lurk harder. Soundcloud radio is actually not half bad for finding music similar to your taste, same goes for Spotify radio

New album's coming real soon and I'm hella hyped Yoshi Thompkins a real motherfucker too J.I.D. is MADDDD up and coming and has some of the coolest flows I've heard this year

Unfortunately I don't think most of those soundcloud rappers can match the beats haha, I'm sure their lyricism is there though. I didn't really care for the others(beats are too same-sy/too much snare), but Landon Cube was actually really great so I'm following him now!

Beat diversity is crazy good right now. They may sound similar because it's still one genre and a lot of hiphop sample 808s. But otherwise it's looking good right now like check this shit out.
between this, claiming "reverse racism" and appearing on the h3h3 podcast, he's really cemented his status as a redditor. :v:
he was asked to justify why he should be a successful rapper when there were so many black rappers that didnt make it and also was accused of culturally appropriating black culture, seems p racist to me also im p sure this music video takes inspiration from kill bill, its not him being a neckbeard
