PHILADELPHIA - March 13, 2014 (WPVI) -- Passengers were forced to evacuated a plane after the landing gear collapsed at Philadelphia International Airport.
Initial reports say the plane experienced landing gear problems just before 6:30 p.m.
We've learned a tire may have burst on takeoff.
It was U.S. Airways flight 1702, Airbus A320, going to Ft. Lauderdale.
Emergency slides were deployed. 149 passengers and 5 crew members were evacuated from the plane.
Watching this live. They keep messing up the story so much.
Oh jeez, better on takeoff than on landing at least.

I certainly hope that you hold a stronger opinion against cars..

None reported so far, from what it looks the plane started to take off, popped a tired and went nose first into the runway. It wasn't in the air thought.
that would be fun, why doesnt this kind of thing ever happen to me?
good thing it happened during takeoff, if it was while it was landing it would probably be a lot worse

This past week hasn't been good for aviation. A plane almost had to make a crash landing today in Kuwait when the aircraft was reporting that the left gear wasn't down.

They did a couple of flybys by the watch tower to confirm if it was down and fortunately it was so they landed safely.

wow this is crazy this cant be a coincidence. im pretty sure accidents like these are like one in a million and it happens many times in a few weeks.. what do you think is the agenda are airlines trying to put the price of plane tickets up? hmm at least i hope its safe to fly i have a flight soon and i really dont want it to fall considering how incompetent the government is at looking for them
At least the aircraft didn't disappear off the face of the earth this time.

wat
I'm amazed you've survived here since 07 with shitposting like that, then again doesn't seem like you hang around much.
Also pretty sure doing this shit on purpose for whatever dumb reason you might think doesn't compensate for the fact that they would lose a ton of customer trust, no one will fly in planes or airlines that show constant problems and can get them killed, so in the end they would lose in having to constantly repair their aircraft AND lose customer money.

tbh I'm surprised theres more aircraft accidents. Theres so many systems that are working in unison to get that tin can in the air.

All they had to do was turn the engines to idle, activate the brakes (which were at their max setting already) and when the plane came to a stop, kill the engines, power and all that and order the evacuation.
It isn't that horribly hard to stop the plane when this happens.

yes but this is happening on a global scale they would lose customer support if its all one airline but its happening with multiple airlines. i swear if theres another crash this week im cancelling my flight tickets, its an agenda by corporations to raise the prices on flight tickets across all airlines so they can " fix an airplane issues for more safety" but in reality theyre just buing more luxury items and more marijuana for justin bieber. and the average consumer wont see it they will gladly pay more for more "safety" but the airlines dont care they will crash an airplane if it means higher ticket prices (that is more ticket prices that will pay for the airplane crash) but its just a theory i think ill be 85% convinced if this happens again though

How the news is reporting this has me confused. Did the pilot abort takeoff, or did he take off then elected to land it again

They never left the ground. They got closer to it.
Nose gear collapsed after the tire blew so they got to slow after that. Even if the nose gear did not collapse, they would have most likely aborted as long as it was before V1.

What happened to you? I checked your posting history also asking the "how are you not banned for gimmick" question. Until recently your posts were pretty normal and had better typing. Is your account hacked or something?
