Lies, one of my brothers freinds worked at some air base when they filmed a car racing a jet, he said they had to retake scenes of the car driving and the jet won by a longshot.
Telstra Roadster? I never knew an Australian Phone Service made electric cars :v:
They put something on Top Gear, then got mad about it? Problem, Tesla? Your electric car sucks.
Why bring it up now?
It argued that because the car was "driven aggressively" on Top Gear the charge didn't last as long, but that if driven "mindfully" charges could last for 313 miles.
A car was driven aggressively in a race? Say it ain't so.
Waitwaitwait. Hang the FUCK up. They're complaining about that their sportscar (electric one in this case) were being driven too aggressively in a test, when the other car was driven the exact same way?? Were they expecting Jeremy Clarkson to grannycoast both cars instead of driving them like sportscar should be? I mean come on, that's just fucking retarded.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I read there.
Knowing top gear one of their future episodes will include the smashing of a Tesla Roadster and driving it very agressively only to piss them off. :D
Knowing top gear one of their future episodes will include the smashing of a Tesla Roadster and driving it very agressively only to piss them off. :D
That would take the budget of two episode though, unless they get one cheap.
That would take the budget of two episode though, unless they get one cheap.
They will piss them off somehow, it's the natural evolution of the Clarksons to turn anyone trying to mess with them into a raging pile of England haters
Why bring it up now?
They ran out of money and need court cash.
It's a race. You can't race and conserve charge at the same time. Besides, the tesla roadster is only just a really good example for what electric cars can be. Nothing more than that.
They ran out of money and need court cash.
so what does tesla want? them to do it again and say it is nice?
The tesla is an awesome car. I can't wait to have a fully electric car. So powerful, so simple, no gears. Awesome. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline]
They ran out of money and need court cash.
Yeah that makes sense. They have no money so decide to spend money on a lawsuit. It's a PR stunt.
The tesla is an awesome car. I can't wait to have a fully electric car. So powerful, so simple, no gears. Awesome.
I agree, though when the car dies (as in can't drive any more at all) the batteries will be hard to dispose of
I agree, though when the car dies (as in can't drive any more at all) the batteries will be hard to dispose of
Oceans.
no gears
And since when is that a good thing, Newman?
And since when is that a good thing, Newman?
Reduced weight, less for the engine to pull, less energy consumed, easier to repair, no gears to actually fuck up in the first place, less oil required.
It's been 3 years, what's the point of this?.
Reduced weight, less for the engine to pull, less energy consumed, easier to repair, no gears to actually fuck up in the first place, less oil required.
Reduce 30kgs by doing away with a gearbox... Add 150kgs by lining the floor of the car with 6800 batteries.
I remember reading they simply wired together thousands of laptop batteries. They need to develop their own system or find something better that batteries from portable computers.
And since when is that a good thing, Newman?
No gears = no gear changes = smoother, faster acceleration
I remember reading they simply wired together thousands of laptop batteries.
No gears = no gear changes = smoother, faster acceleration
makes it boring
-snip-
makes it boring
Indeed.
Why would you need to charge it for 20 hours? How far do you drive every day? I don't see how driving without gears makes it boring. I drive an automatic and it isn't boring.
That and I rage at automatic transmissions for not shifting up or when when I want to.
Well with an electric car you wouldn't need to worry about that now would you
