Why the fuck does Harry Potter have that many votes? It should ultimately be LotR or Star Wars.

Star Wars had its time and the Harry Potter movies/books are drivel compared to LOTR.

I love all of those (except Twilight).
Star Wars came first and is an obvious classic, yes. It's always fun to watch them and the immense story is quite epic.
Harry Potter is always an enjoyable thing to watch. They're fun movies, but Star Wars and LoTR are way bigger than Harry.
For me, I read The Hobbit when I was really young. And later on I read the LoTR trilogy books. I just loved the story so much. The settings/characters/battles, just awesome. And then the movies came out and Peter Jackson did a great job.
So in my own opinion, LoTR is better. But no disrespect for Star Wars as I love it as well. And it unquestionably has the larger fanbase/merchandise/appeal to kids-adults.
If we're getting technical here, LOTR came first...
