The King : Or how I learned to ... K00lwhip where the fuck have you been? remember this http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?957717-A-Walk-Through-Hell&highlight= well great news, i want to try and get past 8 pages! woopty fuckin doo! So what's up everybody, despite the fact that i'm extremely fucking busy, i'm going to see if this will hold out longer than that other one did. The premise of this one is that you are a king with special powers, which I will introduce to you later on, who rules over a kingdom who begins doubting him. As the leader and role model you must either fulfill their doubts and become a tyrant, or show them that you are a good, kind, king through your quests and tasks. Yes, this is a game of Decisions and intelligence (you guys are into that right?) or if anything, respond and keep up just for the art. The halo around the king's (your) head will begin to diminish if you begin to chose evil remarks or deeds, and as in life, it is very easy to lose your reputation, but very difficult to gain it back. So watch out. history, if you care: (and yes i've taken the time to outline this for kicks and giggles) [release]The King A normally neutral ruler, and a good one for many, many years, currently sits on the throne in front of the Golden Tree, where he settles disputes, and presides over his Kingdom. Many times has he brought compromise and peace throughout the land, and many times has he lead his country into battle, and came out victorious. But in a time of peace, without major conflict, what is a King to do but sit on his throne? His People Yes, the King is a respected figure in their society but they've had peace for many, many years. Now his people are beginning to doubt his power, and doubt his position. Asking questions along the lines of "do we really need a king?" and "aren't we sufficient enough without a ruling body?" and "where's my slippers?" The Tree Not much is known about this tree by most, other than legend. According to the ancients, the great founding ancestor of the country was a tree-herder (he who plants and grows trees according to religious doctrine and direction, as well as coordinates ent migrations as to not directly disturb the people living peacefully in the land*) And one day he dropped a sapling into an unreachable niche, and so he left it knowing it wouldn't grow amongst rocks. But months later he came back and fount a tiny golden sapling. He cared for it, wondering it's meaning, since it didn't seem to flower or bear fruit, it just grew. Soon enough the tree grew large enough so that people began to notice it. Once when the ancestor was fending intellectuals from trying to cut off branches from the tree to test their sciences on it, the great founding ancestor touched the tree and began glowing. The whole crowd began hearing voices but couldn't decipher them. The great ancestor could, and he told the people of the town that the gods have instructed him to build a castle of stone and marble around the tree. The towns people didn't understand why they needed a castle, but as soon as they finished building the castle, the dark plaguethons* invaded the land and ravished various towns and settlements, the people of this specific town herded inside the castle. Once they were all inside, the castle began to glow, and the plaguethons were not able to even touch the castle walls lest they lose their lives. From then on, a city was built around the citadel, and it has lost it's glow, but not it's meaning. *When migrating, ents are known to not care about anything other than getting to where they are going, usually resulting in destroyed settlements and farmland *Plaguethons, a humanoid race of creatures with very scary looking features, such as sharp teeth, and an irresistible compulsion to kill. [/release] If more information needs to be explained, please tell me. I use mspaint for my sprites and overall drawing, but use Photoshop to handle the effects, like glow and drop shadow, to create a more appealing presentation. :h:K00lwhip p.s. as you continue your journey you will be introduced to companions, maps, items, and a battle system. while decisions are a main aspect in this interactive, so is fun. p.s.s if you lurk, and you like, rate a heart, or an artistic <3 p.s.s. omg guys calm down. This kind of art takes awhile, and i'm trying my best to deliver, but I am also a very busy man. Updates should be expected weekly. :h:
Send gaurds to the old man
You're back finally, awesome, thought you'd given up forever. This seems a lot more interesting and original than your previous interactive. -If you want it done right you gotta do it yourself.
Seconding what xamllew said, let's hope you won't be cursed with a crashing computer this time around. Keep plenty of backups on the internet :) I think we should take this personal, bring two guards with us though.
I think we should take this personal, bring two guards with us though.
This is gonna be great!
Take the task upon yourself, for you are a ruler like none other. Other rulers may be good and just, but you, you are the best! Save the peasant's son by yourself, for you are the best ruler around! (Oh, and bring one or two bodyguards in case anything goes awry)
When I saw this thread, I thought it was about Duke Nukem.

If anything goes wrong you know who to call. Abraham of course.

Ignore the man. This thread could be good if he updates regularly. Better than some of the dogshit we had on here lately.
Ignore me? No I was making reference of his earlier interactive.
She's giving her opinion on what to do next. Just because she posted right after you doesn't mean anything within the post pertains to you and only you. [editline]24th October 2010[/editline] Art looks beautiful by the way k00lwhip.

Cast the man away and levy a tax upon your people.
no new content? :saddowns:
-If you want it done right you gotta do it yourself.
Mostly I'd agree, but it's just a son in the woods. I say that the King should just send guards. He's a king after all - he can't go looking some random children of a peasant.

No, he is the greatest king! He helps every single one of his subjects.
Take the task upon yourself!
If this isn't updated soon I'll do the updates and take the story my way. Anything could happen.
If this isn't updated soon I'll do the updates and take the story my way. Anything could happen.
I am ok with this I doubt koolwhip will do anything
Wouldn't it be better to ask Koolwhip first?
I can't see why koolwhip would disapprove jewdozer drawing for him, you know it's going to be some high quality stuff being drawn.
It'd be like someone stealing your car, who cares if the person who stole it is a good driver?
It'd be like someone stealing your car, who cares if the person who stole it is a good driver?
I think it'd be a bit more like someone taking your poor neglected dog and taking care of it and feeding it But I think I may be a bit over the top there.
It'd be that if the OP was terrible stickman art
It'd be like someone stealing your car, who cares if the person who stole it is a good driver?
What? No, it would be like your friend taking care of your dog while you're gone.
It still doesn't make it right. You have to ask before you take.
