There are a lot of World War II movies. A lot. What's your favorite? Mine are Life is Beautiful and Saving Private Ryan.
My top five are Band of Brothers(if it counts), The Longest Day, Das Boot, Patton, and Saving Private Ryan.
Downfall and Saving Private Ryan.
I thought "Letters from Iwo Jima" was really good.....I liked seeing the battles and hardships from a different perspective than the Americans. I thought it was better than "Flags of our Fathers" anyway. "Band of Brothers", even though it is a mini-series, is probably my favorite about WWII.
Inglorious Basterds.
Saving private ryan for a the movie and Band of Brothers for a series.
The Pianist and Der Untergang.
I like POW camp movies for some reason. King Rat, The Great Escape, and Stalag 17 are all great. Of combat movies, Das Boot is my favorite.
Das Boot hands down.
I don't have a favorite: Das Boot Der Untergang Saving Private Ryan The Thin Red Line
The Great Escape or Where Eagles Dare. Saving Private Ryan was also pretty good, but I don't find the end of the war/taking back rural France very interesting.
Der Untergang, Saving Pvt. Ryan, and Enemy at the Gates.
Enemy at the Gates.
Saving Private Ryan
1. Saving Private Ryan 2. Inglorious Basterds 3. Schindler's List 4. Downfall (Der Untergang) 5. The Pianist
I thought Patton was a great film.
Defiance is a pretty damn good movie for those who want to watch a fresh WWII film, great action.
Enemy at the Gates! And this one older movie about bunch of American and British (or maybe just American) guys who raid this Chateau place (seriously reminiscent of the chateau mission in COD1), one of them dressed as German. I remember them rounding up all the partygoers in the basement and then like tossing a grenade through a hole to kill them lol. I can't remember the name for the life of me, but I think its pretty well known.
You are thinking of The Deadly Dozen.
I love Enemy At The Gates, it's so awesome and sad
Kellys heroes.
Life is Beatiful.
Letters from Iwo Jima by far.
Saving Private Ryan hands down. Also, if you don't know it just came out on Blu-ray. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035WTJBG?tag=bluray-021-20
I want to love Enemy at the Gates, but the lack of authentic Russian actors (or at least accents) pisses me off too much. So Schindler's List for me, Liam Neeson is awesome no matter what movie he's in.
Come and See is my favorite WWII movie since there isn't anything else like it.
Mine are: - Zulu - The longest day - Tora! Tora! Tora! - Gettysburg - A Bridge too far! - the odd angry shot - Saving private ryan
Battle of Britain
Hard to say really, it's probably a tie between The Pianist & The Thin Red Line
Tora! Tora! Tora! Saving Private Ryan Enemy at The Gates Patton Downfall The Dirty Dozen
