High IT prices in Australia has lead to an inquiry, hopefully going to lower prices.
Living in Australia can often mean paying up to 88 per cent more for some of the most common IT products.
The inequity led a parliamentary inquiry to take the unusual step last month of forcing some of world's biggest IT companies to front up and explain the price hikes.
It baffles me, and quite a lot of other Australian's out there. Yes we might have a high minimum wage. Why does this make it so that we have to pay a higher price for the same goods?
Edit:
Couldn't see this posted in the past few pages.
Good.
Is an inquiry really neccesary to explain the fact that companies charge more because people are willing to pay more?

More like "FORCED to pay more".
Good, good. Ideally they'll peg IT prices to the rest of the world's. IE, if we pay $49.99USD in America for a game an Aussie would pay $46.70AUD for the same game.
It's only fair. Digital distrobution makes it nearly free to 'ship' to Austrailia, there's no logical reason to charge so much more.
