The temperature broke the former record for the date of 118 degrees in 1929, according to the National Weather Service. Other cities that hit new highs for the day included Riverside (113), Indio (120), Escondido (106) and Thermal (119).
"People die out here every year,” Juarez said. "First thing I tell them is that they must carry lots and lots of water. You need at least a quart per mile."
It was 107 here in LA county
Hot as balls here too. Not a nice trend
Was 122 here in Phoenix a few days ago
We got that nice 22°C here in Manitoba.
it must be awful to live in a place so hot that you could boil a kettle for a cup of coffee by just leaving it to sit outside in the sun

Water boils at 212*F though.

It must be awful to live in a place that gets crippled from 3 inches of snow

Not really, humidity changes a lot of things.

You can fry eggs on the sidewalk though

it must be awful to not understand context clues based on location to determine which unit of measurement is being used
if it's that hot in palm springs imagine death valley's temperature right now
it's 110 degrees there at the moment. the record high for it is about 134F.
West coast is the best coast (kill me).
That's literally halfway to water boiling. How is Cali not a desert? #thankgodforthepacific

Many places in cali is desert, moving from the east coast I felt rused when I went to visit a "green California"

Holy shit, though - California has big forests. I would know as I've accidentally been stuck driving in the California forests for hours on end.
Yeah my apartment has been death that past few days. I think I'm going to melt!
Thank fuck for temperate climates. I hope no-one dies by dehydration over there but it probably happens I assume? Highest temp I've ever felt except in a sauna is just above 35C/95F.

Atlanta :v:?
Atlanta :v:?
Nah, Atlanta only needs a quarter inch to shut down.
Also why does LA even exist I mean whose idea was it to build one of the world's largest cities in a desert like really come on man

There's no need to wonder, ask any Marine or Sailor stationed at beautiful and luxurious Twentynine Palms.

In NoCal, sure. But SoCal and most of MidCal? Nothing but sand and dirt.

Only 95 in a sauna? I figured they went higher than that. 95 is an average summer day in my neck of the woods.

"nothing but sand and dirt"?

It hit 108°F here in San Antonio.
For the people that lives with a logic unit system, 122F is actually 50°C
Holy shit
Yesterday at my place it was about 105 in the shade. The thing on my roof said it was 117 up there. It was probably more like 110 in the sun. I actually went outside for some sun since I want to try and get tan for maybe 10 minutes and then I started to burn so I noped back inside. I live in tustin, it hasn't been this hot here in probably 5-6 years.
And 122 is normal for the desert here. I remember in middle school we went to palm springs in July because my aunt had really cheap resort rooms. We found out why when it was 118 and 100% humidity. I've also been camping in the desert once in may where it was probably 110 out. :what:

I live smack dab in LA and I hella take offense to this :v:
there's good amount of forests here, most of it being confined to the Valley area and hilly mountainous area
I usually do reenacting and airsoft and here's some terrain that I've played in
Clovis (Fresno, MidCal)

Big Bear Mountains (East of LA, SoCal)

Frasier Park (North of LA, SoCal)

Fun fact, it still gets around 80F to 95F in the mountains in the summer

LA is fine, it's a coastal city. It's the other 81,000 square miles that are shit.
Man it feels good to be at 68F while you all suffer
