The part that really makes it tragic is his wife in the car with him, rather than just hurting himself he could have potentially hurt her as well.
Glad he didn't get himself or anyone else killed. I hope he has fun without a license for 12 months. Some people are just shitheads on the road. Risking your life to save 15 seconds of time on the road is just not worth it.

This happens all the time in my country, and nobody cares until accident happens
what was he angry about?
what was he angry about?
He got 50 Shades of Grey for christmas
I'd rather have him banned for life from driving rather than for 12 months. If he gets that angry that he is willing to potentially cause a pile-up then he shouldn't be allowed back on the road.
Looks more like a VW Polo than a Citroen to me. Is the original footage clearer? Send it to the police, run the registration though PNC, pay him a visit and slap him on an advanced Driver Awareness Course. If he fails, ban him.

people with road rage are stupid dips if you get that angry that you actually try and physically hurt someone with your car or drive like that big of an asshole, you don't deserve your license. You deserve anger counseling and a huge fine. There is being angry. Everyone has a bad day. If someone yells at me very momentarily I'm totally fine with it because I know that maybe they are having a awful week, it's really not my business to complain. But then there is flat out being a dip. There is potentially causing a car pile up and killing people in the process, and not only that, massively holding traffic up while they scrape your face off the road. I'm a pretty bad driver, but being a bad driver is still being a WAY better driver than someone that can't control themselves. When you do shit like braketest a truck that's the time you better pull the hell over and get your head out of your ass.
I heard 112 month, not 12 month.
Handed a 12 month Although I can see why you got that mixed up
100hrs unpaid work, £145 fine, 12 month ban and must retake his driving lesson, another ~£60 quid. Fucking rekt and rightly deserved I'd say.
Wait, that's it? Nobody actually got in a wreck? Whatever. I can't even tell you how many times some asshat has tried to do that to me. Around here, that's how you say "Fuck you, I beat you to the merge!"
While the driver in the car was an absolute idiot for braking like that right in front of a truck, I don't think it should be ignored that the truck driver shouldn't have been that close to the back of the car to begin with. You should never be so close to the vehicle in front that you can't stop if it needs to do an emergency braking.
To be fair I don't think you'd expect someone to slam on in the middle of a clear motorway but you are correct
When you're driving you can't expect something to not happen, you need to be prepared for anything. There's plenty of reasons a vehicle in front could need to do an emergency stop even on a motorway, like a sudden accident ahead, an animal somehow making it into the road or something falling off another vehicle further ahead, just to name a few examples I could think of right now. That doesn't mean the driver in this case wasn't an idiot for doing an emergency stop test for no reason though.
There are plenty of similar cases where the car driver didn't get so lucky.
You got to have the IQ of a potato to think brake-checking a truck is going to get you anywhere else other than the hospital.
