That's pretty cool, hopefully waterproof phones become standard
but are the headphone jack and charging port okay? [editline]29th September 2015[/editline] i wonder if some dummie is going to jump into a pool with his iphone now only to see it actually die.

is this an elaborate ploy to wreck phones
this isn't all that conclusive unless they open up the phones and check inside
It's actually possible to have it working without any flaps, the Sony Xperia Z5 has exposed microusb and headphone jack.
Sony advised people that though it does have that, people shouldn't try it when possible because they're exposed, which was a change in mood from the Z3.
Wow iOS 9 is waterproof! Someone should test if it enables the microwave charging correctly this time.
Wow iOS 9 is waterproof! That way, the water ions will infuse with the iPhone, making it waterproof. :magic101:
That's actually pretty cool to see. I wonder if it truly is though. I'm sure we'll have to wait to see other people try this out. But if that's the case though props on Apple for engineering it to be waterproof.

But the galaxy s5 was already waterproof..
But the galaxy s5 was already waterproof..
.. Go on?
Add some salt to the water and see how waterproof it still is. Pure water doesn't conduct and surface tension may have prevented the water from getting into the camera and things.
That's pretty cool, hopefully waterproof phones become standard
To me thats the most interesting feature of iphones really. They're so ubiquitous that they can enforce change on the majority of mobile phone users and often times developers too. If they stick this out for a few generations, and so even people with hand-me-down iphones are water resistant like this, it will be a big deal for people to buy a phone that isnt.
But the galaxy s5 was already waterproof..
What does that have to do with the iPhone?
The new Iphones have a gasket instead of glue between the screen and rear assembly. Most likely the same deal for the ports as well, hopefully.
But the galaxy s5 was already waterproof..
except the s5 isn't relevant because it's shit
Add some salt to the water and see how waterproof it still is. Pure water doesn't conduct and surface tension may have prevented the water from getting into the camera and things.
normal tap water isn't pure water?
normal tap water isn't pure water?
Yes, tap water isn't pure water.
That's pretty cool, hopefully waterproof phones become standard
That most likely means no removable battery which I can live with no sd card slot however... Then again, theres the Xperia Z3 line already so...
