I'm giving it a listen. You all know the ridiculous album cover.. but I think this will be a "not that bad an attempt" at people producing as if they think they can be Michael Jackson.
I don't give a shite about politics surrounding the making of it, its a frigging posthumous album... what do you expect?
I personally was looking forward to them, I have heard a lot of his outtakes from Thriller, Bad and his recent ones too.
This may sound crazy, but I felt that due to his music being MORE pop sounding towards the end of his career, they wanted to put only the outtakes from that era onto the album.
They couldn't have made a more wrong decision, as that isn't a period where he was really popular. See where I'm coming from?
And if you have little interest with the artist.... then pretty much listen to

Since writing this OP, I am actually pleasantly surprised with the album so far, I get nice vibes from it.

Also... I accidently wrote in a genre called Popcore which actually does exist, and people must recommend some to me.

Okay.... they ripped off Stevie Wonder's harmonica style on "Much Too Soon" :argh:
NOT COOL.
But technically, thats the only worthy song of his on the album. The others are okay, wouldn't say its an album I would listen to more times again during my lifetime
Thoughts..
Some of it is awesome, other parts are a bit too mainstream pop for my tastes
I don't think its a good album. Far too many duets....50 Cent Duet?
I think the one duet is good. But we are left with outtakes and workings of future songs he made.
It was an album with good intentions though.
Definitely, the 50 Cent song is terrible, I didn't like the Akon one either. Some of the songs are great though. Track 3 (I think it was) definitely stood out. I can't remember if that was the one with the phone intro but if it wasn't that one was great too
The Way You Love Me.
Heard the demo, it was superb. This one is still great but the demo is better, imo.
