Hey guys, i have a question and i want this to be a vote on ideas.
I want to do minecraft Videos or such, but i don't want to be like everyone else doing minecraft lets play or a wanna be chimneyswift
I want to do something new i recently put my minecraft server down so i could have my time focused on this.
please post replys on things i should do ( good ideas ) please no smart ass remarks.
i will list a few ideas.
1. Minecraft Building competitions ( between to minecraft players, this will be when i get a server back running )
2. Hunger games specials ( the youtube audience gets randomly chosen for server whitelist for this )
3. Speed Build competitions.

For the love of God, don't do Minecraft videos. That shit has been run so far into the ground they'll still be excavating the remains in 100 years time.
So, do you have any experience in making gaming videos?
I think we all would like to see something you made before, if you want us to help you make some decisions.
If you want to be original just don't do minecraft. (Or terraria)

Play some obscure games. Gameplay of shit that hasn't completely stagnated on Youtube.
Could do some vidyagaem related challenges, like beating Dark Souls without using a single bonfire.

One of the main reasons I'm not into watching gaming videos anymore is that everybody plays the same game, and does the same thing. "Oh I'm gonna play a game that's popular now and talk while I play, and hopefully I'll get youtube money"
There's a lot of things that you can do, just think outside the box
I'm always up for watching Gaming trivia type shows (McFrosticles, Nintendo 101, DidYouKnowGaming, PlayValue), so maybe something like that?

No seriously, don't, I mean, [B]DON'T[/B] do Minecraft videos. They are so overdone and boring, and rarely even good. Find something else, something less popular, and let's play it. You could also try machinima, game show style trivia, or really just anything you can think of.
I will give you credit, you at least have proper grammar and spelling, which already makes you fairly better than most Minecraft fans out there. I am sure you will find something that is good, and if not, then maybe making videos just isn't for you, and that's okay too.
Well you'll never become popular anyway so don't bother.
The let's players you've watched are a very select and very lucky people who've somehow made success. For every popular let's player, there are 1000 unsuccessful let's players who will never get noticed. And almost every popular let's player right now did something in the past to gain that popularity in order to begin let's playing. (A lot of them did stuff for Machinima [the channel] before branching off to do their own thing)
Trust me. If you begin your let's playing "career" by playing Minecraft, you will never get noticed. That is literally a fact. You have to begin from something else. Like everyone else has said, Gaming trivia, machinima, doing something unique (for an example, trying to play through GTA 4 with a mod that makes police 10x harder and other mods that make it more interesting for the viewer) anything else is better than playing minecraft.
You could try playing obscure games, but a lot of the time the game is obscure for a reason, and it'll be hard to get noticed because of its obscurity.
Please, don't do minecraft.
If you are trying to get off the ground then you pretty much will not get ANY progress with minecraft.
Think of it like this. Your channel is a business card. You see that pile of cards over there about a mile high? Those are other channels and videos that do minecraft. You toss your card in that pile because thats where it goes.
Now what are your chances of you getting noticed doing minecraft videos?

I don't think people go into making videos with that thought in mind. You don't earn that much money unless you make it into a living and you get a lot of views, and you won't unless people find you funny and being funny is a job in itself.

These are overdone in my opinion, go for games that are less... flooded
Like i did a short series of Captain Morgan playing Fear (aka drunk) and people loved it for the fact that it was not your average game.
Just look around and pick a random game like uh.. Dwarf Fortress? No idea but not the 'mainstream' games
