Facepunch gather round, After our facepunch gear whore webcam meeting i've thrown the idea to my team Red Legion to attend World At War 6. Our objective is to have one of the bases/teams as a Russian based team. We will bring our flags (USSR,Russian,VDV,Russian Army,Russian Navy Etc) to serve as the 6 flags we need for our base. We if we are allowed have a radio blasting Russian propaganda. MetalMan if you read this, See if the Eastern Wolves want to join in. I know most of you live in PA so this is quite the drive. Any FP'er is welcome to join our team and a month before the game I'll add you guys to our team forums so we can do some planning of what everyone is bringing and what we will do. Anyone with alot of experience with this field and is coming you will be a great help towards the effort. No uniform requirements, No weapon requirements.
Consider this a good meetup for FP'ers

I have nothing against using 320 and lower FPS pistols instead of going for safety kills. ( I will chrono pistols)
Game layout:
Back to old school, W@W 1 featured 5 teams going toe to toe. This will as well. There will be 5 teams, each team will have 6 flags.
The object of the game is to take down enemies flag and put up yours, when doing so that team will now be under your control.
If a team takes over your MAIN base, they will control all bases you control.
There will be Refs at every base as well as refs walking around. Bases will be shut down for 5 minutes after flags go down to reorganize teams.
A Photographer will be there also to take pictures and videos.
Each team will be able to have up to 25 players.
Team leaders will be able to pick the team color, country (I may just get color flags) and will also be able to pick what base they want.
SP has also allowed me to give the green light for teams to come early Sunday and build up their bases with defenses (tarps, boards etc) if its anything more than that please message me for permission.
Bases to choose from are.
Alpha – Castle – Tombstone – TPs – Citadel – Charlie – Village – Saloon
Where do you live
Winnipeg, Mantioba, Canada.
1,663 mi – about 1 day 4 hours
Not happening :saddowns:
Unless someone wanted to fly me there :buddy:
Checked Google maps, its a 31 hour drive. Not worth it for just a one day OP.
I live just a little bit too far.
It's a 2 and a half hour drive for me and my team so it's not bad for us
Checked Google maps, its a 31 hour drive. Not worth it for just a one day OP.
41 hours for me.
Maybe if there was a game that was like over a few days I would make the trip. That would be fun. Just get venom and Taepodong (seeing as they are west of me) to drive out here and I drive the rest of the way.
22 hours 32 mins for me.
I know one of you lived in CT
Oorah, that would be me. Y'know, the one helping promote the game haha. I dunno for sure what I'm doing at the game itself, but there's a pretty good chance I'll roll with you guys, assuming my team hasn't gotten their act together before then (which is likely. that they won't) and even if they have, we may just fill out that roster. Though be prepared for a lot of American gear if we are.
No problem, It looks like i'll be CO for the russian team. Meaning russian team is a-okay to go
Excellent. Even if I don't end up running with you, it'll be good to meet another FP member.
EDIT:
Also, I figured I should give you guys a little more information about the game/field. First off, it's in East Hampton, CT, not New Hampton :p. Anyway. The field is huge, for starters. It is a paintball field, so there will be paint-shit in certain places, but not *huge* amounts. When we play for games like this, all of the different fields are used. There are two or three "MOUT" type areas, with a number of buildings in each, primarily constructed of plywood. There's also a castle at the top of a hill. The staging area is in a pavilion with electricity and such. Otherwise, the field is a very hilly area, with sections that either have cover from trees, foxholes, or paintball-style bunkers. Be prepared to run most of the day, and wear boots if you come out- you are going to throw an ankle otherwise. And the game style- it's chaotic, but it's supposed to be very fun. I haven't been to any of the World at War games yet, but this looks like the one to be at. The more people get out to it, the better. If we had a few FP'ers on a team, that'd be excellent, and if you're there early either I, or someone who knows the field better than me, can give you guys a tour around. So yeah. Everyone should come.
I would love to go but I live in the UK *sadface*

Mout Style areas and a nice staging, My team will be happy.
Cubeman, PM me with your AIM/MSN/Whatever, I've got some questions about your team.
Damn, this would've been fun to go to, but I don't think I'm up for a 2 day drive quite yet.
I say we go for it.
If/when theres a game closer, even if it was in the States I would probably go if it was overnight or over a few days.
I say we go for it.
I like that attitude. Do eeet.
If the OP was longer than just a day, I'd definitely go for it.
But it'd be at least two days to get there and back, so I'm not sure if it'd be worth it.
Plus, would we even be able to bring our gear across the border?

We could bring everything except guns so we'd need someone to lend us guns on the other side.
I've got a loaner. And for people coming all the way from Canada, I'm sure we could scrounge up a few. Also- carpooling ftw
We could bring everything except guns so we'd need someone to lend us guns on the other side.
Well we could bring our guns into the States, but good luck getting them back into Canada. There's a possibility they might make it back in, but it's not worth the risk.
Yeah, just bring gear/magazines/whatever. But no Pyro, I think. I'm sure we can get you guys outfitted once you're over the border.
I don't think any of us will be able to make it. I'm the closest and its 31 hours for me. Not worth it for a one day game. Have a game that goes overnight or a few days and I will consider it.
Hm. Well, I can't make this OP, but if there's another OP across the border in a couple months, I'll definitely try and go.
We might be able to arrange some carpooling or something too. I'll drive us across with my Lancer.
:smug:
