I've heard this sound labelled all sorts of stuff, but whatever you want to call it, it's freaking awesome. Normally somewhere between 130 and 140 bpm, it's kind of a mix of sub bass, deep synths and UK garage rhythms, but pretty much everyone making this type of music has their own way of doing things so it's pretty hard to describe, you just have to listen for yourself. My favourite producer in the scene right now is SBTRKT. He DJs in a tribal mask, and he makes some of the freshest beats I've heard in recent years. Love this genre, its fresh and sounds so good. Its starting to pick up momentum now too which means big things for it.
Mount Kimbie are one of my favs. Brownswood electric is a good compilation in this genre (i think)
Ohh, perfect timing for this thread! Question: anyone know what's the song called, it starts off with just a beat and a guy saying something like "ooooohhhh yeahhh" +1 cookie for the one who answers

I have never heard of this genre, but I quite like the songs you posted by SBTRKT. I thank you for this.

Does nobody know what song I'm talking about? Maybe you know similar songs, if so, link them please. Also, I'm not trolling, that's seriously all I remember.

Like, what sort of synth sounds or percussion was in it?
Alright, sorry. I have found it: I'm really enjoying it, hope you will too!
