Slitherine Software is known for a bevy of lesser known historical strategy games predominantly on the PC with some titles on Mac and iPad. It has also produced a tabletop war-game of its own, Field of Glory.
Who's Slitherine you ask? well they make shit like this god help us all
GW has a habit of selling their licenses to cheap and crap companies because they're tight.
I thought this was an additional thing not the whole licence.
Why the fuck would they do this? DoW1 is one of the best RTS games ever made. Relic are fucking amazing.
heresy
But they make the advanced combat simulator/Excel spreadsheet seen on Deadliest Warrior!
Why the fuck would they do this? DoW1 is one of the best RTS games ever made. Relic are fucking amazing.
They were pretty fucked off about DOW2, not giving a proper description of how 40k is meant to be big battles and lots of units.
Wait, didn't Creative Assembly get the license that Relic had when they purchased Relic? Creative Assembly can't make 40k games? I...I... :C
However, despite the deal with Slitherine, it does not necessarily mean that Sega is out of the running completely for producing Warhammer 40,000-based titles.
I hope that's true, I've heard bad things about Slitherine.

Just kill me now.
Warhammer 40k on a newer, massiver scale we shall drown them in guardsmen
I guess Games Workshop really does want to die.
Slitherine isn't a bad company. They're much more in touch with actual wargamers, most of their games are basically electronic wargames. There's nothing wrong with this.
ten sad points to slytherin :(
No, seriously fuck no. Relic has done too good to lose this :(
Bullshit, that 40k should have gone to Griffondore.
OH HOLY SHIT. Slytherin is the company that does the "simulations" for spike TVs "deadliest warrior". We're doomed
Slitherine isn't a bad company. They're much more in touch with actual wargamers, most of their games are basically electronic wargames. Those fans of Dawn of War and more recently, Space Marine will be sad to see it go.
Bullshit, that 40k should have gone to Griffondore.
Personally I think it should have gone to Raven[del]guard[/del]claw
There's nothing about Relic losing the license, just it being given to this company. Relic could still get it.
This saddens me greatly. And I doubt GW is going to let Slitherine make a simulator of the tabletop game. They're not that stupid.
Guys. Get this. Multiple companies hold the same license at the same time.
I guess Games Workshop really does want to die.
They're shooting out their kneecaps when the water they need to survive is at the top of a steep hill
I hope get another game like Dark Crusade. Though, it holds up so well, in my opinion, that I can just play it and I'll be fine.

It's already been confirmed whatever they're working on is some sort of turn based strategy though. I hope it's a hex and chit game.
So what is the future of Dawn of War 3?
So what is the future of Dawn of War 3?
Dark. Very, Very, Dark.
Damn, it's so retarded how Relic makes the most amazing games and due to licensing problems and publishers falling apart that they can't continue half of the stuff they make. Homeworld is another example.
snip
Guys. Get this. Multiple companies hold the same license at the same time.
well yeah, space hulks been in production for years it's just looking grimmer for Relic renewing their license as this goes on

The only thing we're gonna see of that franchise anymore are mobile device ports, perhaps a graphics update for HW1 and if we're really lucky a casualized abomination of a sequel.
