Can you really destroy something that's already broken? I got a good chuckle out of this

The president himself is destroying America?
You give his position too much credit for power.

okay if we are getting technical, his administration. summing it up into just "obama" makes it easier to talk about

Also the whole 'destroying' thing is a bit of an exaggeration...

no it's not, we are $8 trillion more in debt than the day he tooks office. we started with $10 trillion, thats almost doubled in 5 years
Obama using social media and doing pr stuff like this is great because every president after him will be expected to do it too. Imagine some old white guy president trying to use tumblr or vine or something.

Imagine having that debt forced into your hands, though.

Because that definitely had absolutely nothing to do with the recession that started before Obama took office.
The increase in debt has barely changed anything; we're still getting loans from other countries at low interest rates, and unemployment is dropping to levels before the recession.

Pretty much, I mean there's problems in America, as there will always be problems in any other country in the world.
But honestly I'm cozily sitting here, in my nice room, on the internet, posting on this forum and about to play World of Warcraft, if Shit in America were as bad as people make it out to sound like, I think we would feel it first.

And we still launched something into space again, and I can buy Christmas presents still.

I think we all complain to hard about a country that honestly is still pretty nice to live in.

I don't think you understand exactly what the president is capable of, or how the government works for that matter if you're making assumptions that this is all the president's fault.
You know, this doesn't necessarily mean he's a good one (though I think he is), but Obama is probably one of the most charismatic Presidents the US has had in a long time. David Cameron just looks and acts like a slice of ham come to life.

Debt doesn't really matter. Recession and unemployment do though.
The big expenses were the bailout, auto industry bail out, bailing out the banks. Do you think the government should have let all of these happened?
I didn't think anybody actually thought that? Are you libertarian?
I gotta give the president credit for doing that segment. I'm not sure if anything he said was his own, but it takes serious guts to keep your cool while your reputation is played for laughs. While he has made some decisions I don't agree with, I don't think he is the worst president in history. I think I can safely say that Obama is about an average president with an above average sense of humor. We haven't had a president make fun of himself so much since Reagan appeared on the Dean Martin Roasts. Unlike congress, I think he at least has tried to improve the country.

He hasn't had proper full control over the budget since like 2010 though

Aww! looks like a little republican isn't getting his way! Boo hoo!

What is the point of you reply if it was just to antagonize another user? Many people, left and right alike, dislike the president. Being against Obama is hardly a party thing these days.

Let this post be a good example, that even Liberals can be just as asshole and dickish as Republicans :v:
