Texas Congressman Ron Paul, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, won’t attend a GOP forum hosted by the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) on December 7th, reports Reason.com. Although the GOP forum will feature Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, pizza magnate Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Texas Governor Rick Perry, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, Mr. Paul wasn’t invited.
The RJC wasn’t shy about offering a reason for keeping Mr. Paul out of the GOP forum. The RJC “rejects his misguided and extreme views,” RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said, according to Reason.com. “He’s just so far outside of the mainstream of the Republican party and this organization,” Mr. Brooks added.
The RJC expressed their reservations about Mr. Paul as far back as May. “As Americans who are committed to a strong and vigorous foreign policy, we are deeply concerned about the prospective presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul,” Mr. Brooks said in an RJC press release.
The Wall Street Journal pointed out how Mr. Paul’s unwillingness to offer foreign aid to allies, including Israel, is a roadblock to growing his support in Iowa. “A lot of Republicans are of this Christian mind-set that we need to defend Israel,” Paul supporter Micah Luethje told the Wall Street Journal in November.
Jonathan Tobin, senior online editor of Commentary magazine, slammed Mr. Paul by backing up the RJC’s decision to keep the Texas congressman out of the GOP forum.
“On the surface, the decision by the Republican Jewish Coalition not to invite Rep. Ron Paul to their forum for presidential candidates seems ill-advised,” Mr. Tobin wrote in an op-ed for Commentary magazine.
However, Mr. Tobin added “there is no reason for it to allow Paul to pretend*he is anything but an extremist who is far outside of the mainstream, especially when it comes to issues concerning the U.S.-Israel alliance.”
Mr. Tobin focused in on Mr. Paul’s foreign policy views as the primary reason for his support of the RJC’s decision. “Paul’s isolationism is so hard-core that he sees America as a force for evil in the world and its adversaries, such as al-Qaeda, as being justified in their determination to fight us,” Mr. Tobin argued.
At the end of his op-ed Mr. Tobin slammed Mr. Paul for his foreign policy views. “I’m sure there are gatherings of Islamists and anti-Semites where he would be welcomed with open arms,” Mr. Tobin professed.
Jon Huntsman is better anyway.
Go Jon!

There's so much irony it hurts to read.

To be fair, they're both misguided and extreme, just in different ways.

The price of refusing to be Israel's bitch.
Regardless of his views, he's a legitimate candidate. This is stupid.
If we are going to ban politicians for their extreme views then surely the Republicans would be banned from US politics years ago.
"i don't like his views! he's stupid!"
"yeah me too!"
"yeah fuck the electoral college!"
"we don't like his views so we won't let him in!!"
Is that why Johnson isn't going either
You'd think this sort of thing would be illegal.
You'd think this sort of thing would be illegal.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it's their party, if they don't want him to represent them, they don't have to let him.
And still people vote for Republicans....
They banned him for the one thing he gets right.
They banned him for the one thing he gets right.
I don't think a foreign policy of "fuck everyone else" is right.
The republicans would never let a sensible man represent them.
The republicans would never let a sensible man represent them.
They let Jon Huntsman in.

Also
“Paul’s isolationism is so hard-core that he sees America as a force for evil in the world and its adversaries, such as al-Qaeda, as being justified in their determination to fight us.”
Saying something like that would put you at odds with pretty much any US Politician, Democrat or Republican.
I don't think a foreign policy of "fuck everyone else" is right.
That's not why the Republican Jewish Coalition banned him, it's for his views on Israel.

Do you really think if his foreign policy was "fuck everyone else" but Israel, the RJC would still ban him?
That's not why the Republican Jewish Coalition banned him, it's for his views on Israel.
The RJC banned him because his views include Israel.

The RJC's kekystone and policy platform objectives are pretty clear from the name alone ("Jewish Coalition")
They're extremely critical of Obama and Clinton's Israel policies and have made constant condemnation towards the two. That was the only time they've even criticized the Obama Administration, just because of his alleged "anti-Israeliness"
I don't think a foreign policy of "fuck everyone else" is right.
"Let's fuck our own people to support other nations killing their own" policy is worse.
The RJC “rejects his misguided and extreme views,”
lol'd hard
Democracy isn't really that important for the Republicans, we are supposed to like what they like.
I love Ron Paul's foreign policy, we need more trade (WHICH NEEDS TO GO BOTH WAYS FOR FUCKS SAKE) and less ground pounding in wars we don't need to be fighting. We've been fighting in foreign countries almost non-stop for the better part of half a century now, what good has it done us or the people we were trying to help? I don't see anyone else trying to put a stop to this bullshit, just more of the same.

Their attacks are insane, considering that the Israeli government has praise Obama as a great ally numerous times.
Too bad, he seems the only sane Republican candidate, after Huntsman.
Well fuck me but isn't that a violation of the first amendment rights ? Even if he's a poor politician (I don't know, I barely know him) as long as he isn't assaulting anyone or being openly racist I don't see why he would be kicked out like that.

Party rules, comrade.
It was an invitation to their debate, as stupid as it is.

Sadly, I have to agree with this. It is their party. Normally, this would be okay and just join another party but the US uses an awful party system, his alternatives is to run as independent or as a Democrat. Both choices are awful.
I never got why hawk Christians republicans were so pro-Israel (other than the lobby money)
surely they would want to invade Israel and bring Christianity to those Jewish people
It's not hard to see why Ron Paul is against aid for countries and people in general:

On a more serious note, not too bothered by this tbh (indeed, I find it rather amusing and ironic), he's just another brand of crazy.
