Somehow AB completely passed me by, I only discovered them a few months ago (they aren't particularly big in the UK). Awesome metal but with Myles Kennedy's awesome voice (I love heavy drums/guitar but can't stand screaming, which can be a hard combo to find). I also really like every song on all three albums, which doesn't happen to me very often.

Not really. I didn't go in with that mentality and I still don't like it.
The same idea could go for metal, and its haters having a "IT'S JUST BASHING INSTRUMENTS AND SCREAMING" mentality. Even if you do not go in with that mentality, you still might not like it.
