It was posted on my newsfeed because I liked a page on Australian same sex rights, but the standard for duration of commercials here go for 30 seconds (?), however if getup! gets involved it'll most likely go on air
besides a lot of ads to do with gay marriage get soccer mums undies in a knot and radio talk back shows are spammed with angry shit cunts
internet ads are mostly effective here, doesn't take long for the word to go around anyway
It would be great to see these on T.V in the U.S. I actually don't believe I have ever saw a pro gay marriage commercial on t.v.
The Christian lobby is useless in Australia. We've had RU486 on the market and deemed absolutely safe for ages while all they can do is express strong disapproval through press statements.
It doesn't matter though. A lot of people I've talked to on the issue who disagree might come to the conclusion that there's nothing wrong but still won't support it. They accept it's inevitable but stand in the way admitting what they're doing is pointless. All we can do is shame overt hatred and pass it some time people won't care.
if they legalize gay marriage i MAY consider calling Australia a civilized country.
