Backbreaking doesn't even begin to cover it. Michigan athlete Jim 'The Shark' Dreyer of Grand Rapids is in the midst of yet another record-breaking quest of swimming across Lake St. Clair while towing a ton of bricks behind him. The 49-year-old who set off from the Clinton River Boat Club near Algonac around 8 a.m. Monday is expected to swim for approximately 30 hours before reaching Detroit's Belle Island. I might go to the waterfront downtown today to watch him swim by. I live like a mile from downtown Detroit which is obviously on the river.

Forget the drug war. Everyone knows illegal brick smuggling is the real danger in today's world. But in seriousness, that's quite a feat. He started swimming at 8 a.m. yesterday so he's in the last hours of the swim.
might as well watch a snail race
Slow perhaps, but snails do not offer the same level of spectacle as this.
Holy crap this dude is going the distance. That Windsorite has nothing on this guy. [t]http://db.tt/ud6Lj8jJ[/t]
I actually met him once while he was working out in the pool at the Byron Center Community Pool, was a pretty chill guy and he does all these crazy things for fun.
he better get out of the way when he reaches the shore. don't wanna end up getting mushed by all those bricks coming at him!
he better get out of the way when he reaches the shore. don't wanna end up getting mushed by all those bricks coming at him!
He needs to worry about the constant flow of tankers more than his towed bricks.
Hope he doesn't get cold feet.
Suddenly bricks stop floating and drag him under. :\
When I read the title, I imagined him towing a pallet of bricks and immediately sinking. This makes much more sense.
