SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- California lawmakers approved billions of dollars Friday in construction financing for the initial segment of what would be the nation's first dedicated high-speed rail line connecting Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The state Senate voted 21-16 on a party-line vote after intense lobbying by Gov. Jerry Brown, Democratic leaders and labor groups.
The bill authorizes the state to begin selling $4.5 billion in voter-approved bonds that includes $2.6 billion to build an initial 130-mile stretch of the high-speed rail line in the Central Valley. That will allow the state to collect another $3.2 billion in federal funding that could have been rescinded if lawmakers failed to act Friday
'THE NATION SAYS THIS POST IS OFFENSIVE'
Why is that even a thing
I don't even understand what the headline means. Do 780,000 more women have jobs now or something?

Fox News are the smart at grammer.

To rouse up their crowd to their side
"YEAH, THIS IS OFFENSIVE. ISN'T IT? YOU KNOW IT IS."
"Yeah, I kinda guess it... YOU'RE RIGHT! DOWN WITH OBAMA!"
I really need to stop reading the comments on that site, they just make me sad.
About Light Rail Passage in California.
Uh I think you just pulled a Fox News, the article is about High Speed rail. :v:
That time they legitimately posted a onion story as real news was funnier
Uh I think you just pulled a Fox News, the article is about High Speed rail. :v:
quick better go post a thread in SN about it!
lol fox news got a headline mixed up! more like faux news eh?

The odd thing is that all these things can be taken at least two ways. Like, say they did GAY 'MARRIAGE LEGALIZED' and that got 'the nation says this post is offensive' - does that mean the legalization of gay marriage is offensive, or is the article itself offensive somehow? It's like doublespeak or something.

clearly the nation says that post is offensive

I'll gladly fund a kickstarter if you make a documentary on the shady liberal news posting in sensationalist headlines.

I don't even know how to find them. I consider it a good thing.
That's cute, they're pretending to care about women.
While making every attempt to chip away at their rights, of course.
Because unemployed people are poor people, and poor people are dirty stinking hobos, and hobos ride the rails.

Not these rails, have you seen the price for a ticket on this thing?
[editline]8th July 2012[/editline]
It's one of the reasons the train is so unpopular with the public, too damn expensive.

What are you talking about? The public voted for the thing to be built in the first place.
What are you talking about? The public voted for the thing to be built in the first place.
They changed there minds, there was an article about it around here somewhere.

Then perhaps Californians need to think before voting more often. For far too long we have voted in things, then declined to pay for them with another bill, or "change our minds". Californians really like getting shit, but we sure as hell hate paying for it. We have a lot of knee jerk approvals of bills. I mean, look at Scwartzenegger. Californians voted him in because they were starstruck. We voted in this rail project, we are stuck with it. Should have thought about that before.

:v:
On the one hand the high speed rail initiative is kind of a waste of money.
But has anyone ever driven through the Mojave desert from Barstow to Bakersfield? Rail, especially high speed rail, would be great.

Are you sure it was the same californians?

It'd be nice if they were building it like 30 years ago when construction actually happened quickly. Isn't the estimate a few billion dollars and 20 years or something retarded like that? I probably won't even be living in the country by the time they finish this damn thing.
For Fox sake!
Fox News are the smart at grammer.
I imagined bill o'reilly stating this; you possibly made my day.
Well that right there is what I call a Sensationalist Headline!
We should rate it funny and outdo those who are offended.
quick better go post a thread in SN about it!
