Jurassic Park 4's Dinosaurs Will Not Have Feathers
There's going to be a Jurassic Park 4, and there's some super-vague details coming out about what it's like. (Some kind of "scary" dinosaur will make a cameo?) The director is Colin Trevorrow, and last month he sent out this tweet:
No feathers. #JP4

But
but
realism
This has actually left me a little bit disappointed.
Leaked concept art:

They better not do to jurassic park what they did to indiana jones.
I'm ok with this since the mythos has already established what the dinosaurs looked like, and JP wasn't exactly realistic to begin with.
the fuck, since when did dinosaurs have feathers
the fuck, since when did dinosaurs have feathers
They did, simply google for it.. In fact, birds may have evolved from them.
Good.
I hate the whole, "Oh they found a few that had feathers better put them on every dinosaur ever" stuff.
I'm okay with this.
Partially because I haven't learned anything new about dinosaurs since the fourth grade, but also because of the style of the series.
dropped
I personally think feathered dinosaurs look cooler.

They wouldn't look that bad.
That looks pretty badass
A t-rex normally looks bald and ugly, give it some PLUMAGE
in AMERICA, our dinosaurs aint no HOMOS
The books are so superior to these films that don't even follow them it hurts
I have waited for a long time for someone to say the books are better than the movies. I still liked the first movie a lot, but Lost World and III already fucked everything up. I'll be surprised if IV is even sort of good. Also who is Colin Trevorrow?!

There are only two books I thought? And this is the fourth movie, so I don't see how the books matter now.

that's my point, the 3rd one was the worst because at least the prior two films had something of substance to loosely adapt from.
All of the deeper concepts that Crichton put in the novel that made it worth reading and not some Scholastics sweatshop novel were gone
There is always an XKCD comic:

Anyway, weren't they cloned using frog DNA? They'll probably explain it away using that. "Well, the incomplete parts happened to contain the parts about feathers, so the frog DNA made them like this."

I always thought that's why the Raptors looked the way they did to begin with, at least in my mind.

Yeah.
They filled the sequence gaps with it.
I'm more concerned about the intelligence given to dinosaurs on these films.. I mean a raptor shouldn't be much smarter than a chicken.

The film lore already established they were at least as clever as dolphins.
You know i don't even anymore, Feathers really? God are just pissing on us for the fun of it?

But dolphins are smarter than humans.

That video does not exist.
Good riddance, feathers would really detract from the predatory dinosaurs' intimidation factor

This raptor looks a soulless killing machine

This raptor is probably interested in interior decorating

Movies aside, they're both extinct.
