It’s been more than four long years since Swedish developer Avalanche Studios released the outrageous open-world game Just Cause 2. Players gravitated to gunfights atop moving vehicles, the versatile parachute, and the innovative tether that could link nearly any two objects, humans, or a combination of the two. The 400-square-mile world provided the ideal backdrop for players to go nuts, with many players hitting the 100-hour mark to earn 100-percent completion or to simply goof around with the wild physics. The mod and YouTube community kept interest in the game alive for years after launch and eventually pushed sales to more than six million units. In 2015, the beloved series returns with Just Cause 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We got the chance to be the first people outside of the studio to play not just 10 or 20 minutes, but several hours of the game, set in a fictional Mediterranean archipelago. The time flew by as we tried out the vastly improved parachute and grapple mechanics, terrorized the latest dictator’s well-defended bases, and soared through the sky with the all-new wingsuit. Just Cause has never played this smoothly, and as you’ll see in the cover story launching digitally today, it’s never looked this good.
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/11/11/december-cover-revealed-just-cause-3-29401230.aspx
Holy fuck yes I can't stop cumming
I wouldn't be surprised if Multiplayer was a main feature.
Keep in mind this game might have microtransactions/come out as episodes/some other shit http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1435280 http://www.inquisitr.com/1585470/just-cause-3-xbox-one-screens-leak-and-reveal-possible-micro-transactions/ Get hyped with caution.
Loved the first one but never got the chance to play the second one properly. Excited to give this one a go.
Is Ren from Ren & Stimpy still the main protagonist?
i have just cause 2 in my steam library, haven't touched it, should i start today
Get hyped with caution.
Don't get hyped.
I'm excited yet worried because of all the micro transaction rumors. This has the potential to be amazing but also complete shit if Avalanche implements the micro transaction format.
I'm excited yet worried because of all the micro transaction rumors. This has the potential to be amazing but also complete shit if Avalanche implements the micro transaction format.
its already confirmed with episodic releases. just play JC2 MP instead.
i have just cause 2 in my steam library, haven't touched it, should i start today
Download it now, play it and enjoy the utter insanity of just cause 2
the thing where you could phone up the dude and he'd drop you a helicopter or a bike or whatever in just cause 2 is just gagging to become some sort of microtransaction system
hell yes i played the shit out of 2
the thing where you could phone up the dude and he'd drop you a helicopter or a bike or whatever in just cause 2 is just gagging to become some sort of microtransaction system
Yeah, the "Black Market" rip
THERE IS GOD
Yeah, the "Black Market" rip
no this isnt real
no this isnt real
It's from an alpha build if it makes you feel better, they could've removed it since then
Yeah, the "Black Market" rip
Are you sure that's not ingame currency? Usually microtransactions come with one normal ingame currency and one premium currency you have to buy IRL. If it's microtransactions indeed, welp there goes my hope for better mod support. Only reason Skyrim could pull it off was because people were interested in the canon (and console players didn't have anything close to Hearthfire).
I'm expecting this to be filled with microtransactions. I really hope it's not but so far they haven't said it isn't, even though they said it wasn't F2P.
its already confirmed with episodic releases. just play JC2 MP instead.
Where was that confirmed?
Are you sure that's not ingame currency? Usually microtransactions come with one normal ingame currency and one premium currency you have to buy IRL.
The diamond symbol and the "Buy more" prompt makes me think it's some microtransaction currency, how would you "buy" ingame money? [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] Unless you can buy normal ingame money with real money, which is also terrible.
I really really really hope that microtransactions aren't involved Also, Bolo santosi or bust
It's not free 2 play atleast. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/11/11/is-just-cause-3-free-to-play.aspx
It's not free 2 play atleast. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/11/11/is-just-cause-3-free-to-play.aspx
I don't think anyone really thought it would be F2P, it's being filled with microtransactions that's the problem.
If it has microtransactions I'm just hoping they'll work on the same basis as the ones in Dead Space 3 did, I played the game in co-op with a friend and had a blast, neither of us ever felt like we needed to spend money to have fun (hell I didn't even see anything related to microtransactions in the menus, it was probably done via the main origin interface), and if you're a big baby that can't wait for the game to give you resources at a normal pace, you can just buy them and have access to everything instantly. [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] Of course it'd be best if it didn't have microtransactions at all
I really really hope they drop the microtransactions. Just Cause 2 was a masterpiece because you felt so free to do whatever the hell you wanted, if they put a fee on everything it's going to be nowhere near as appealing. I really hope the microtransactions are just stuff like reskins.
I hope they manage to have the same massive world, but make it more alive. My favorite part of JC2 was just how MASSIVE the world was, I rarely used quick travel and loved driving, flying, and boating everywhere. The only problem I noticed was that the world just didn't seem that alive.... same static buildings everywhere, no interiors, etc.
Here's an idea, completely insane but hear me out. How about y'all stop freaking out over a year-old screenshot from an alpha build and instead wait if they actually announce micro-transactions?
jc2 was a game where I knew nothing about it but playing the demo. I bought it and I thought for sure I was going to waste my money. I was wrong, and I have 53 hours in it, which is pretty respectable for a single player game nowadays.
By the way, if you want to buy the second game, Just Cause games are on sale right now: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/49740/
Maybe the micro-transactions are just in multiplayer mode? Micro-transactions in singleplayer would be cancer. Also hope the physics aren't total ass this time.
