• Cigarettes; Or Why I Learned to Not Smoke and Love It's Hilarious Consequences

:siren:Before I start off, please learn that this is in fact NOT an Anti-Smoking thread.:siren: It's your choice, do what you want. I just can not because I might... die. We're starting off on April 21st, a week ago. My brother ("Mark") is on the Speech and Debate team for his school, and has been very, VERY busy recently. After a rough day, he walked home from school with his friend ("Nate"), and decided to smoke a clove cigarette for the first time with him. It was the first time he smoked anything, but he was just thinking that if it'd relieve some stress for a little bit, he'd be OK with it. He would turn 18 in a few months anyways, so he thinks that there's nothing for him to lose, and that our Parents can't do jack shit about it. So, Nate and Mark had a good ol' Clove Cigarette and Nate went home. After about 3 hours, Mark got sick. He vomited every 10 minutes and almost immediately after anything he ate or drank (even water). He decided not to tell our Mom, because he figured people some people get sick after smoking for the first time anyways, and this was just his reaction to it. Mark had me bring a bowl into his room to puke in, and we made that Super-Cool brotherly trust not to narc on each other. Then it started getting worse. He took a bath to relax a bit, just to end up soaking in his own vomit in the tub. Our Mom then realized he was sick. She gave him some Medicine, and sent him to bed. After lying in bed or 2 hours in pain and vomiting a couple more times, he told Mom that he needed to go to the Hospital immediately. It's now around 10:00 PM, I'm about to go to bed, and my Mom has no intention or desire to go out that night. After feeling the beauty of Guilt and watching her son Suffer, my Mom finally agreed and we all got in the car and drove to the Hospital. For some damn reason my Mom took him to the Pediatric doctor's Office 3 hours away we stopped going to seven years ago. Since Mark was basically feeling very grateful that Mom took him to any sort of doctor's office, he decided not to complain and think of her as his life line, seeing as how he felt like he was on the verge of death. Let me tell you that it's around 1 AM, and we're in a Pediatric Hospital that hardly has any patients after 8:00 PM. The only patients there were a little boy coughing silently, and Mark, who looks like he got hit by a truck. The lady at the counter is reading People magazine and listening to some Bubble-Gum Pop shit on her iPod, and sends my Mom to fill out a 3 page form to admit him in. After scaring the fuck out of that little kid because my brother looked whiter than Michale Jackson's corpse, he was dressed in one of those Hospital nightgowns. Let me just say that this was a Hospital gown that was just fucking paper and string, no joke. While we're in the room waiting for the Doctor, there was a point where Mark tried to lay on that little Paper-Coated bed thing, until he groaned, crouched, and just shit diarrhea all over the room while vomiting on the bed. The Doctor comes in right after, seeing Mark just confused and covered in shit and puke. The Doctor seems to be from Africa, and says in a very thick accent "Cho-Kay, I'll be back in a minute", and left us there. During the break, Mark finally confessed to our Mom about how he smoked a clove cigarette, and how this might be related to that. After guiding us to a new room while Mark still has shit dripping from his ass (which, might I mention, is completely visible in his gown), he gets a new change of Gowns. The Doctor feels his forehead and moves his head around and checks his arms, and said "Cho-Kay, we need an IV in you right now". Another doctor comes in and hooks him to an IV, after a few attempts. You see, Mark's veins in his left arm collapsed, and it took this guy around 10 minutes to realized that there was no way he could hook this IV to the veins on his left hand. Of course, his hand was nice and bloody afterwards. Mark spent 5 more hours in the hospital, and after some testing, they discovered that Mark was not only allergic to cloves, but had a very strong allergy to Tobacco. If he hadn't gotten an IV in him, he probably could've died. Fucked him up BAD. I was tested for this too, turns out I would have the strong allergic reaction he did if I were to have smoked a cigarette too. After getting told by some Hispanic nurses for hours about how if it were their son they would've left him in his room and how lucky he is that his Mom even took him to the Hospital, (Clove Cigarette, boy, Joo-Crazy?) we finally left. Just in time for me to go to school the next day. TL;DR: My brother smoked a clove cigarette, almost died, and I would end up doing the same too. Although this was a somewhat serious situation when it happened, it is kind of funny when I think about it. I swear to god I heard a janitorial Mexican lady crying after seeing the mess he made in the first room we were in.
I learned something.
Save a cigarette. Smoke a joint.
*not to smoke don't split your infinitives, bruh
your brother should die anyway
dunt smok But seriously, he's incredibly lucky.
I would cry too if someone shit and vomited all over a room I had to clean.
Save a cigarette. Smoke a joint.
Something anything damages your lungs, just not as severe as tobacco.
*not to smoke don't split your infinitives, bruh
Fuck I thought I said Not to Smoke Dammit :v:
your brother should die anyway
Rated [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/rating/heart.png[/img]
Something anything damages your lungs, just not as severe as tobacco.
Gee whiz, I had no idea.
If that'd happened to me when I first tried smoking I'd have freaked out to the max, but it didn't so now i'm hooked D:
Fuck I thought I said Not to Smoke Dammit :v: Rated [IMG]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/rating/heart.png[/IMG]
it's all good homie :c00lbert:
I hear ya, OP. I don't like to smoke, just because of a personal preference. But in your case (and your brother's), what about passive smoking? How do you guys deal with that?
That sounds beyond nasty.
Hurp Durp, nevermind. But even then, it was just an allergy that induced it. I'm not saying that cigarettes are good for you in any sense, what I'm saying is that this case is a completely different animal.
I remember my first cigarette it killed me

Second hand smoke is not nearly as intense as 1st hand. We'll just take some Benadryl or Claritin if it gets intense, or just leave the area. We won't die from it, but the itchiness can get very irritating.
You guys are killing me.
Smoking really does kill.
I'm glad I don't have this allergy.

As a result, by the time I get out of the pub/night club/whatever, my clothes stink with cigarette smoke and I feel like I had my head inside a plastic bag for 6-7 hours straight, because I feel like the goddamn cigarette smoke was smothering me
hahahaha ohgod hilarious!
Smoking really does kill.
I with this guy. It doesn't kill only helps cause problems that develop faster and are directly related to ingredients in the cigarette.
I have honestly never heard of anyone being allergic to cigarettes. Was it the cloves, or the tobacco?
I'm sorry, but that made me lol.

Guess your brother had a pretty shitty time
Nate is a bad influence. Tell your brother to avoid him at all costs.
