As if there wasn’t enough sadness going around after the death of Patrick Swayze another performer has passed on. According to the LATimes, Henry Gibson one of the original members of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In has died. The character actor was best known for his stint on the 1960’s TV series as well as a few cult eighties flicks such as The ‘burbs and Gremlins.
With a career that spanned more than 40 years, Gibson left a long lasting impression on the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, a majority of the people in or around my generation probably aren’t really familiar with Henry Gibson’s earlier work. Even though he wasn’t as heavy of a presence as some other actors, he managed to stay an active entertainer until the very end. During this decade alone he made regular appearances on Boston Legal and the animated series King of the Hill.
Gibson died Monday night at his Malibu home, after a long fight with cancer. He was 73 years old. As a product of the eighties, Gibson was a huge part of my movie watching experience. He always popped up in supporting roles in some of my favorite films, and when he was on screen he’d steal the show. His talent will truly be missed.
Fuck its that week when Billy and Jackson died all over again.

Oh for fucks sake. I hate 2009. I was just watching the Blues Brothers not 10 minutes ago.
This just in, Kanye West commits suicide hoping to boost his albums sold; buyers instantly stopped buying.

I remember Henrry Gibson playing as a paster in Wedding Crashers. That's probably the only movie I've ever seen him in. Poor guy, he seemed to be pretty cool.
I still am not over Billy Mays.
Fuck you death. FUCK YOU.

I only ever saw him in Boston Legal and an episode of Stargate SG-1, but still, it's sad that he had to die.

Yo, Kanye, I’ma let you have your moment, but Michael Jackson had one of the best deaths of all time.
He was also in Will and Grace, as Leslie.
