But it's leading man Nicolas Cage who is at the center of attention today, as the "Ghost Rider" star took some time out from his busy shooting schedule to discuss his goals, ideas and work on the superhero sequel during an interview with Collider. "I have high hopes for it," Cage said of the sequel. "I’m very confident that something special is going to come out of this experience. You can just feel it on the set." Cage also laid plenty of praise on top of his directors, describing the "Crank" filmmakers as unlike anybody he's ever worked with before. "They’re total originals," he said. "Mark Neveldine is doing things with the camera that are just brand new. He’s on rollerblades. He’s hanging off of wires at 300 feet. He’s just doing things that are combination stuntman and camera operator/director that are quite shocking and quite risky." "And Brian Taylor is just a philosopher when it comes to movies," he added of the film's second director. "You can talk to him about Michael Powell’s 'Peeping Tom,' and you can go into Ishiro Honda’s 'The War of the Gargantuas,' in the same sentence. He’s definitely giving me a chance to bring a lot to the character." In addition to playing Johnny Blaze for a second time, Cage is actually getting the chance to embody the Ghost Rider himself when the sequel rolls around. "[Taylor's] idea to have me play Ghost Rider as well was inspired," said the actor. "We’ve been coming up with a lot of interesting things to do in the abstract, to help support the supernatural aspect of the character. He is the most supernatural superhero of all, after all." "I don’t want to give anything away, but I know that the Ghost Rider character will definitely mess with their minds," he concluded.
yeah ok
What is with Cage and supernatural movies? You'd think he actually believes in that stuff.
i was surprised enough that there was one Ghost Rider movie
Ghost Rider was awful though. Excuse me, I'll be sitting on my bed shaking my head in disappointment.
Mess with audiences? It sure will.
Sounds like another great one from Mr. Nick Cage!
What's up with Cage in the picture
What's up with Cage
Fix'd.
Ghost rider was a pretty poor film to be honest.
As fast as you can, name all the movies Nicholas Cage has been set on fire in, in some form
Mess with them as in, "Holy fucking shit I spent money to watch this movie, Jesus fuck I think I am going to kill myself right now." Then yes it will mess with them.
When ever I hear his name I cant help but be reminded of this video.
The fact that it's being made by the two directors from the Crank series makes me really want to see how this turns out and disregard the first entry altogether.
What is with Cage and supernatural movies? You'd think he actually believes in that stuff.
No, he just knows there are a billion idiots out there that do.
What's up with Cage in the picture
The jaw.
Will see the sequel just for The Cage.
Ghost Rider was awful though. Excuse me, I'll be sitting on my bed shaking my head in disappointment.
Hey, even if the movie itself is awful, Nicolas Cage's awesome performances always make them worth watching.
Doubt the film will get him out of his money troubles.
Oh I don't know about that. According to this, he's doing fine now.
I could hardly stand to finish the first one it was so awful. I can't see myself even bothering to give this one a chance.
He should release a movie where he does a walk through of Bella Sara. I'd pay to watch that.
I love Nick Cage He's just so over the top
He's pretty good in most of his movies... Come on, who could forget The Rock? Classic movie
Will see the sequel just for The Cage.
just to see if his eyebrows move
Lets not be so harsh the effects on the Rider were pretty good and the scene where the 2 riders were riding together, thats it though.
Ghost Rider was pretty weak, but it was oddly entertaining for some reason.
Ghost Rider was shit. And I'm pretty sure this will also be shit.
