Three-year-old Thendara Satisfaction, known as Jagger, is understood to have collapsed and died after returning home to Belgium on Friday. Police in Belgium are investigating and a full toxicology report is expected next week. The husband of Jagger's co-owner said: "I can only hope it wasn't an act of jealousy by another competitor, but just a lunatic." Jagger, who came second in his class at Birmingham's NEC on Thursday, is owned by Belgian Aleksandra Lauwers and Leicester-based breeder Dee Milligan-Bott. A full toxicology report is expected to reveal more next week Mrs Lauwers's husband Willem said the couple was "devastated" by the death. "My wife has to go and give a statement to the police tomorrow and we'll see what happens," he said. "We're quite successful and that can of course make people jealous," he said. He said CCTV from the NEC was being analysed, but the number of dogs and members of public at the event could make it very difficult.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-31787558 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11459609/Jagger-dog-death-Kennel-Club-investigates-reports-of-six-poisonings-at-Crufts.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-31792152 Pretty horrible stuff. Crufts is a big show for the dog competition community, and this poisoning seemingly came out of the blue.
Honestly, I'm kinda hoping the dog died of it's own aliments, because you would have to be one dastardly dumb mother fucker to poison another person's dog at a dog show.
"We're quite successful and that can of course make people jealous," he said.
This wouldn't surprise me in the slightest
Other reports of poisoning have surfaced as well, but it doesn't appear that any have been confirmed yet. the whole idea of "best dog" always being pure bred is pretty lame. pure breds usually are just a product of 40 years of incest and they always have health and attitude problems
the whole idea of "best dog" always being pure bred is pretty lame. pure breds usually are just a product of 40 years of incest and they always have health and attitude problems
They don't always have more health problems. Studies have been taking place recently which have shown that for a number of pure breeds there is no significant difference when comparing the prevalence of common diseases to that in crossbreeds. Obviously some breeds do have certain diseases or disorders that they are more genetically predisposed to, due to the inbreeding to maintain breed standards, but it cannot be generalised. Also attitude problems can't be blamed solely on the dog, a large part of the blame lies with the owner or breeder.
my mother has been involved with the Finnish Alaskan Malamute circles for about five years now and the stories are just crazy there's something about breeding dogs that makes people fucking insane
