• Bob Katter, Australia's nuttiest politician, says something sane for once
Maverick Queensland politician and enthusiastic Christian, Bob Katter, said Australians should not necessarily believe federal parliamentarians who said they were Christians. "Australia is a very secular society, which isn't necessarily a bad thing," he said. "Australians may not be very religious, but as they long as they ‘love their neighbour' at Easter – wish their mates well – that is the main thing. "There are plenty of politicians who piously pray in Canberra and go off to Christian breakfasts who are then asked to make a stand for their fellow man on an issue and they turn their backs on Australians who need help. "I'd rather have an atheist who looks after his mates than someone paying lip service to Christianity."
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/do-australian-mps-believe-in-god/story-fncynkc6-1226608445752 That was unexpected
"I'd rather have an atheist who looks after his mates than someone paying lip service to Christianity."
It goes both ways too really, I'd rather have a religious person who is trustworthy, honest, and a decent human being than a belligerent atheist who thinks anyone who doesn't agree with them are sub-par humans or some stupid shit like that
Isn't he the guy who turned his back on his own brother for being gay?
Isn't he the guy who turned his back on his own brother for being gay?
Yep, and bet he would walk backwards a few hundred kilometres between two towns if there were any gays in his electoral district
I'm honestly stoked but don't get too excited, I'm still holding grudges to this cunt over this debarcle [editline]31st March 2013[/editline] I saw it on the TV whilst eating dinner with my family, we all looked at each other with the expression who cares
So I'm guessing there was some sort of planetary alignment I must have missed aye?
even a broken clock is right twice a day

Oh my god, how did that ad get aired? I certainly don't remember it.
even a broken clock is right twice a day
when a clock is broken do you use it to tell time or do you stop using it and throw it away
when a clock is broken do you use it to tell time or do you stop using it and throw it away
dunno about you but you could probably try fixing it as clocks aren't exactly very complex things
dunno about you but you could probably try fixing it as clocks aren't exactly very complex things
yeah they are unless you mean like digital clocks but those dont work with the broken clock analogy
Oh my god, how did that ad get aired? I certainly don't remember it.
It was for the Queensland state election but there was a mass amount of complaints recieved about the advertisement so it was pulled down, the project had a good rip into it which was probably one of the main forces in getting it removed
It goes both ways too really, I'd rather have a religious person who is trustworthy, honest, and a decent human being than a belligerent atheist who thinks anyone who doesn't agree with them are sub-par humans or some stupid shit like that
let's just say that an honest trustworthy person is generally preferable and leave it at that
even a broken clock is right twice a day
A "working" clock is never right.
A "working" clock is never right.
A working clock is more accurate than a broken clock on average
Honestly, he's not that bad. He's had a bad rap recently because of that Gaynor moron being associated with him, but he himself is pretty upstanding and consistent with his beliefs. The rest of our political system could learn something from him.
yeah they are unless you mean like digital clocks but those dont work with the broken clock analogy
I've fixed a few mechanical clocks in my time, it's pocket watches that can be a pain in the ass. The worst was a magnetized one. I got the back off, all the parts then clumped together, which let the spring loose, which blew the damn thing up. (The parts shot everywhere)
