Shit happens like this all the time, and yet, a stereotype of Kentucky is to blame? You know, many educated individuals come from Kentucky, and have a very good education, but nope, everyone's just a drinking, fucking and gettin' pregnant, chewing tobacco, down syndrome Red-Neck.

I lived a majority of my life in Kentucky, and though I have a deep hatred of America for various reasons, I can tell you, to this day I miss that state.
We have beautiful forests, great wild areas, and a blend of rural and urban you seldom find elsewhere. Where I lived, we had our rednecks, but 80% of the population of my town were completely "Northernized". There weren't too many rednecks unless you went into very rural counties, and even there, you generally found hardworking, honest people, not Quran-burning bigots.
