Any body get these?
Sleep apnea also causes the patients to wake up suddenly and though this sort of thing is not associated with any anxiety there is evidence indirectly linking it with sleep panic attacks since sleep apnea affects heart rate and blood pressure. The precise reason for sleep panic attacks is not yet known. It is suspected that possible causes might include a build up of carbon dioxide in the body, a condition that is known as "false suffocation alarm" that causes the body to respond by strenuous breathing and rapid heart rate. Sleep panic attacks are influenced by the events of daytime, alcohol, drugs, depression, and stress.
My experiences It happens to me usually a few minutes after i fall asleep. I see just black. But i hear things. Usually im doing something simple. one night ( few years back ) "I was on my scooter playing with friends. i fell down onto the concrete and face planted." i woke up freaking out. Once again i did not see anything just sensations. sounds so vivid. so real. sometimes its like a movie playing at 30x speed. your dream starts and snap its over. you wake up just shocked, scared, nervous, heart pounding, feeling like your chocking. Any one else get this? TLDR - people fall asleep panic wake up
When I fall asleep in class, sometimes I feel like something is rushing at me and hits me. Then I jump awake, sometimes moving my desk back a few inches, followed by everyone looking at me like I am crazy.

I sometimes jerk my leg when I trip and fall in a dream. It's weird.
I sometimes jerk my leg when I trip and fall in a dream. It's weird.
This exact same thing happens to me. I'll dream that I am running, I fall, and then I wake up with a stubbed toe because I kicked the wall.

sometimes, not all the time, that happens to me too, when I feel like something kinda hit me when I woke up. some people suggest that this is the spiritual body returning to your physical body. usuually when I am suddenly awoken by alarms and stuff, my breathing gets faster too
Valium helps.
I sometimes jerk my leg when I trip and fall in a dream. It's weird.
Shit, me too maybe not necessarily with my leg, but I fall in some weird awkward way, and then wake up
me to. do you see anything? usually i dont see anything i just know its coming
I just feel something hit me, then I practically jump out of my seat.
My worst one is when I'm walking along a sidwalk or a floor in my dream, and it caves in into infinite blackness. that wakes me up with one hell of a start :v: My sleep panics feel like my legs just fell through my bed. physically, it's actually a very weird feeling. it's odd how that happens, but these dreams actually cause me to lose complete control of my balance, which in turn, wakes me up.
Umm, Idk if this is weird or not,but VERY rarely, about 4-5 times a year, I goto sleep, close my eyes, and for some reason I felt like someone scared the crap out of me,even though my eyes are closed, and its the weirdest thing. I'll have my eyes closed and all of a sudden BAM I get scared for no reason. Also when I was 7, I got scared and fell off my bed and cut the back of my ear on the end of the bed frame, you know the metal corner. It bled. Hah, I remember I was sleeping on the bus. I put my head down and closed my eyes. Then, I quickly jerk right up and I hit my head hard on the window behind me. Everyone stares at me like I'm crazy. T'was pretty embarrassing.
Sometimes I'll lay there and be just about to go to sleep, then for some reason I throw my arms and legs out as if to catch myself from a fall and end up wide awake again. What the fuck is this, and does anyone else get this?

seems pretty common

I have this sometimes. One time I was dreaming I was driving, and drove right off a fucking cliff, screaming to death, then I woke up and started crying. Fuck. :c
One time I dreamed I was in WW2, D-day, I was storming the beach, and got shot in the heart. I woke up like someone just punched me in the chest, I was dazed and light headed.
The weirdest thing is waking up right before it and you feel like someone dropped you from 3 feet over the bed because you can feel the bounce :v:
I have this sometimes. One time I was dreaming I was driving, and drove right off a fucking cliff, screaming to death, then I woke up and started crying. Fuck. :c
so many bad nights when i was 5 :crying:

i punched my wall one because i had a dream that someone stole my porn
This happens to me alot, and every single time its the same scenario ( long flight of stairs and I fall down)
Don't know if this classifies as sleep panicking but sometimes I get hurt in my dreams and when I wake up I am sore in the same spot. Yet there's no bruises or anything, and there was nothing around that could hurt me.
Another damn sleeping thread. This is like the 6th one this week
Sometimes, when I'm sleeping, I feel like I'm rolling off my bed and I suddenly jerk awake to catch myself. It's weird.
I've had it a few times when I've just fallen asleep that I feel like I'm running or something like that, then jumps from somewhere high, and the 'Air impact' from falling wakes me up. Is this an unknown need for suicide? :ohdear:
I don't know, but whenever I trip or fall in my dream I just spasm and wake up. Then I cry and go wake up mommy.
