T-Mobile also does unlimited data, but limits you to 480p video streaming and isnt really unlimited. Verizon promises HD Streaming minimum for unlimited (720p or higher is HD).

The 480p streaming is an option that you can turn off or bypass with HD passes, but those appear somewhat cumbersome to activate and I never have bothered to use one, even if they're completely free.

The 480p thing is optional and takes 2 seconds to disable. And they are truly unlimited. I consume 120gb+ a month no problems.

Most carriers here offer 'unlimited****' which really means you get anywhere from 1GB to 10GB of 'high speed' (LTE) before they throttle you to speed's slightly faster than dialup

In Ireland, 20 euro gets me unlimited data on 4g, infinite texts and calls to the same network, and on weekends infinite calls to any network, and then the 20 euro can be used to call anybody also.

Basically same here, throttled to 128Kbps beyond the data limit. Although anything like the word "unlimited" is basically never used. I rarely even use beyond 1GB though, I use my laptop a lot instead and there are a lot of places here with Wi-Fi now too (not free, limited to users of major carriers but at basically no extra cost).

I love paying nearly $140 a month for two lines that only get 3GB/s of data. I'd be fine if I didn't go over the cap all the time by only using snapchat, instagram, and spotify very moderately. if I wasn't on a contract I'd be on verizon right now, been wanting to switch to them for ages.

Our family is using Consumer Cellular on an AARP plan my dad has. 4 lines, 1,500 minutes (nobody uses phones these days anyway so we never even use 10% of that), unlimited texts, and 5 GB shared data for $85.50 a month. You won't be streaming movies or music but it's good enough for even heavy web browsing.

The biggest thing though is that we no longer have to deal with Verizon. When I got my Redmi Note 3, they simply refused to let me use the damn phone, sending us in circles and telling us to go into the store. The lady made up some nonsense about the IMEI being the incorrect length (it wasn't), despite all the hardware being compatible with Verizon's network. They said we couldn't get a SIM card for it because of that excuse. Then a few days later we got a phone call from them saying that while we were in the store we expressed interest for signing up for Fios.

Unlimited data might be nice and all but they just kept jerking us around so it wasn't worth it.

I just set quality settings lower. Youtube sets at 480p, Play Music is on Medium, and Chrome's image compression is on. Also Wifi whenever you can. But I also have 8 GB with rollover on AT&T prepaid.

I call bullshit. Verizon had unlimited data years ago. They're only bringing it back because they're losing business now. Shit up until last month they kept hounding my dad with "upgrade deals" and shit because if he resigned a new contract he'd not be grandfathered in on his old one for unlimited data. I do all my phone stuff through ATT since they have sim only plan, which is still a huge place Verizon shits the bed because they artificially lock you to using their phones on their shitty service because half their "massive amszing network" is cdma trash.

With Three in the UK I paid like 11 pound a month for 3 times the service I get in the US for $40+ a month. Telecomms in the US are a predatory shitfest. Same in Canada.

I got in on T-Mobile before they changed their unlimited plan so I have actual unlimited data and I pay $87 a month after taxes and fees
